Fairo. Cripps has pulled some damn good performances against us in recent times, seeing I was thinking about the one where he broke the contested disposal record.
On Sloane the being a tagger the bigger bodied guys like Cripps, bont, Fyfe, pendles and danger all bully sloane and our mids especially in the middle at centre bounces and also stoppage, sloane the tagger hasn’t worked, danger carved us up in the middle last year along with Bont in the bulldogs game. Isn’t this why we went out and got hately in the off season to be our 191cm 91kg mid? Yes his disposal hasn’t been up to scratch but I can see him learning a hell of a lot more being told to sit in Dangers back pocket all game then running around in the SANFL racking up 25-30 touches.

I'd be fast tracking Ronin O'Connor for those roles, has far superior burst speed than Hately and better defensive skills/mindset than all of our current rotation.

From Riley Knight

“I was pretty disappointed to be honest,” he said on SEN SA Breakfast.

“I still felt like I had some really good footy in me, but I just felt like I didn’t really get an opportunity to progress with my footy.

“Every time that I played AFL I always played the high half-forward role. I never really got the opportunity to take the next step into a midfield role, other than the tagging role that I had in 2017.

“I look back at my career and I sort of just wonder there was no way I was going to forge a 10 or 12-year career playing as a half-forward in that sort of graveyard shift.

“So I was a little bit disappointed in that aspect.

On McAsey..... We might get a bit of karma back for the Hately deal.

Bit of organised hit pieces on McAsey. Theres like 4 different news sources running with it within 5 minutes.

We better get something decent for him. Bloody pick 6....disappointing
He'll go to North in the PSD.

Interesting that Riley used the term 'graveyard' when discussing the high half forward role. That's a term that i've only really seen bandied around in here or on the Crowcast.

Maybe Riley was one of the players that was rumored to spend time on BigFooty. Wouldn't surprise me actually

Here we go

He isn't the first player to think that by changing clubs he mysteriously will turn into a better football player and find talent that he hasn't shown with us and from what I've seen just isn't there. We shouldn't have drafted this kid. Tbh I doubt he will have a long term career at any club as he doesn't pace, football smarts to make up for it and doesn't have great skill and strength. I feel going to another club trying to apportion the blame on us for his lack of ability is a smart strategy by him and his management and will slightly lengthen his career but lack of ability will get found out in time. We will get the best deal for him now as time will only make his value decline imo. Take our lumps for a bad pick and move on.

That role is used an excuse by posters on here for why Jones and McHenry and Galluci etc are very average to poor but he did better at it than these more vaunted 'talents' and his performance was not rated. He also ran defensively better than most of the team trying to plug holes while Crouches/Jones etc watched their players run past.
