I don't see the reason for the angst about Hawthorn discussing trade for GC pick 19. I'm sure any club that thinks they can fit the salary dump would be enquiring.

If we needed to sweeten the deal more than taking the full salary dump and giving future 3rd, by using future 2nd instead, i'd rather call it off completely. As I've previously opined, i think Macpherson would be depth only, and don't think we should trade more than future 3rd. Our 2022 2nd round won't be far off pick 19, and every year there's excitement around players in that range. If more was required, I'd prefer upping the contracts of some youngsters instead of going ahead with the trade.
Not that I know anything, but I tend to agree. There would need to be a genuine belief in a lot of extra value of having a similar pick this year rather than next year, particularly taking on the extra salary and list spot. With the lack of footy from juniors, it is hard to see how to be sure either way. A rough season next year would be even more bleak if we only had one pick in the first 40 in 2022. Just my thoughts from the outside and would back the insiders if they see enough value in having the pick early if that's how it plays out.

Darcy McPherson is considered a 50-50 chance to get to North Melbourne, who also need to find a way to bring in Callum Coleman-Jones from Richmond.

The Roos don’t want to give up Pick 20, but the Tigers will argue a long-term deal on good money deserves an early second round selection.

Richmond’s draft hand is incredibly strong already (4 selections inside 30) and it’s understood the Tigers are looking to package up selections to move up even further to accelerate their rebuild.

They can argue all they like, it's not going to happen. Richmond and its media sycophants.

This was Samson Ryan but pretty poor the coach cant remember a blokes name who he coaches lol
Seriously, how the f*** do you forget someone named Samson? Especially when the guy's 206cms and looks like Brodie Grundy after he's been put on a hot wash and thrown in the dryer on the hottest setting?
