Bundling up players who are worth nothing doesnt get you a player in return.
Long has played more football and Lonie about the same as lipinski over the last two years, it’s probably weighted in there favour. You’re right in principle you’re not getting a Dunkley no matter how many good ordinary players you bundle up Imo.

They might be interested in Long seeing as we poached him from their VFL team and they were planning to pick him.

But i wonder if they've seen him at St Kilda and realised they dodged a bullet?

Do Carlton even pretend about the salary cap? How could they be looking at Cerra (3 mil + / 4 years) after just taking Williams & Saad… whilst also having massive contracts for Cripps, Walsh, Weitering, McKay, McGovern, Docherty, Martin, Curnow?

Maybe we should be going hard at De Koning with a big offer.

Hopefully freo get punished for being complete knobs this year and lose a good player like Cerra to the draft and he ends up at North… it's dickheads like Bell & Dodoro who hold up the entire trade period.

No doubt Bell will demand 2 x top 10 picks for Cerra who is looking like a player, but has had one game over 30 disposals so far…

Just for my information, why is there no interest in Tom Lynch as a DFA? I get he's a bit old but he's quality for a year or two while we source or develop a long term replacement. Has he dropped off in the last year or so??
If we are bringing in another KPF they need to be able to ruck. Lynch has had a total of 5 in his career.

Reckon Geelong might be keen on Billings. Doesn't fit their over 30 demographic, but they need some ready made talent while their window is slightly ajar.

He's never really played as a true KP to be fair. More like how Membrey played most of this year as a mobile forward who gets up the ground and is often the kick inside 50. We don't need him regardless.

I reckon they're done. They need to reboot through the draft. If they don't win it this year they're ****ed.

I'd rather Lynch than Talia. Talia is busted a broken, our rehab group has been busy enough. In saying that, I'd rather pass on both at the moment

Talia was super robust until last year. Lynch has had a much more injury prone career.

Current picks that will also slide - 28, 29, 35, 53 (give or take)

If they retire off a couple of old boys I can see them chasing a player like Billings as they don't have a great draft hand.

They currently have 15 players turning 30+ next year

If Billings is stupid enough to think them closer to a flag ( from next year) than us I’d be very surprised. They’re one foot off the cliff.

Been saying that for a few years though.
Most of there old dogs will go round again.
Will probably look to remove Henderson, Higgins, Jenkins off their list. 2 of which arent named in best 22 anyway.
Reckon they will look to add Tahlia to replace Henderson

They've looked on the cusp of falling off a cliff for a long time and have remained up the top, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with them. They did have a few players last night that look pretty close to being cooked. Henderson, Higgins and Dahlhaus all struggled. Those three are pretty replaceable. The big one is Selwood. Obviously, his on field importance has been massive, but I feel like he's one of those players that is at the very core of their culture and system. Much like Riewoldt was here. When Riewoldt left, the club took a while to adjust and I wouldn't be surprised if it was similar at Geelong.

I suspect they've probably got another year of top four though. Even if those four retired, they've got enough good players to compete. Guthrie, Danger, Duncan and Parfitt is still a quality midfield. Smith and Menegola on the wings. Cameron and Hawkins will still be a potent duo.

Higgins is contracted for next year and cost them pick 30 last trade period.

But I guess they weren't worried about cutting Stuv after luring him over, so could do the same with Higgins.

But their stars won’t be getting any younger or faster.
