He sounds like he's still holding a grudge against the saints. And I hate how he constantly talks about "Zacky" Merritt like he's the second coming of Christ.
Goddard certainly gives a opinion on St Kilda , never in a good way.
Being a ex Saints champion you would of thought he might of had a clue what happened to us this season with the disastrous injury list , instead he made the comment in the paper we got ahead of ourselves because we made the finals the year before - you have Ryder , Marshall , Jones and Clark only playing half the season with Gresham and Paton out as well - surely he knows who is in our squad.
Not having half our midfield would cripple any side.
By the way not having Carlisle , Frawley , Geary didn't help as well - I would add Hannerbery to the list but he hardly ever plays anyway.
Even injuries to Billings , Higgins , Battle , Kent , Wood never helped.

Anyway next year we already have 3 more players - Gresham , Paton and Xerri who should be ready to go.
Add some exciting talent from the draft and it's all systems go.

Marshall never really had a chance to show his best this year due to the injuries he had and he wouldn't of had the match fitness.
Membery went missing in games and just add Hill and Butler to the list.
Just having these guys alone picking there game up we play finals.

How about Cotchin
They are no better than Crouch and we got him for nothing and even his salary was not over the top.
They are dreaming if they think a team would offer anything for them and the salary they are on would be the killer - best bet is the Gold Coast offers something for them. - Dunstan would of been a better fit for them as well.

I'm pretty sure it was me back at end of 2016. And I'm certain i said he would be lucky to play more than another 50-100 games... Not sure I ever said he'd never play again

FWIW, he's played 78 games since coming across from GC to the Hawks

Very happy he didnt choose us. He's never got back to the superstar he looked to be early at GC. And the two 1st rounders & 2nd rounder it would have taken to get him... I'm stoked we never got him.

Also, I'm not sure if I'm 100% correct, but it was around the time we had Freezer and we spent a third rounder ( maybe future second?) on him. It made a lot of people on here very iffy about getting another injury prone player, especially for what he would have cost.

I remember your posts about JOM very well, and it is exactly what you have said - with that type of injury he could well play games, but would have lost that explosive part of his game that would have made him a star. That's a little what I'm worried about with Gresh's achilles injury too, just quietly.

Only joking. Cotchin’s long past his glory days of the premiership era. This year he was really slow and looked cooked. Surprised they haven’t actually looked at Dunstan though. Their midfield is really weak right now unless Dusty and Bolton are there full time

The thought that Jack Newnes is better than Bradley Hill is disqualifyingly ridiculous.

Seriously ,,, the next person to mention JOM or Mitchell for our first rounder , im going to pop through your screen and bite your tongue off so you will never speak such trash again
He’s a very good player. Sorry that you can’t see that.

also FYI I said 1st involved with picks coming back.

Huge difference between that and trading our 1st straight up….

Surely we look at Will Brodie/Darcy Macpherson purely to get a pick upgrade from Gold Coast for their salary dump.

You said maybe a third coming back , he gets a lot of it but is not that damaging with the ball in hand , was going to be a superstar before the knee issues but now not so much

I think he meant more , that after trading an arm and a leg , we aren't much better off than if we had just kept Newnes.

You don't want to compare the stats.
