Bangers Says - Tony Bamford's assessment of Harry Barnett

”He’s definitely our most promising tall in terms of performances this year.
”Harry has improved in leaps and bounds since 2021 when we first noticed him.
”To his credit, he’s taken his game to another level and was able to experience national level football as well as senior level football here with the Bloods and whatever level he played at, he played well.
”That is a good sign, when you can elevate up a level and still play well.
”He was the best performed ruck in the National champs, which is probably why clubs have been doing a lot of homework on him.
”He’s ultra-competitive and he’s got a big thick body for an 18-year-old ruckmen. A lot of the high-performing 18-year-old ruckmen are still a bit skinny but Harry is built like a man now.
”He can run, he can get around the ground like some our midfielders so that separates him the other ruckmen in the national competition.”
Apparently Sydney are very keen.

Sensational

Ability to play on smalls and talls is definitely what he’s got . Will start on smaller types

Is like an ice man out there , sometimes you don’t notice him because of it
We were great I'm defence when we had the likes of Smart & Hart who couldn't match up on anyone.

Having MM, Worrell & Doedee gives us plenty of flexibility.

This is the Cats model.

Agree

If Michaelanny could play on some of the smalls and keep them quiet then also take some intercept marks it’s just a more rounded and talented defence

Timing will be perfect with Smith 2-3 years from retirement .....it's a big year for McPherson & Hamill ....Hamill just has to be in the game more & use his weapons more than he does

Is playing all 3 along side Butts and Murry/fa Kpd too tall?
Horse for courses depending on the opposition forward line... may only need 1 of Butts/Murray... particularly if Worrell adds more strength.

Hamill needs a clear uninterrupted run from injury (concussion).

Bangers Says - Tony Bamford's assessment of Jakob Ryan

”Jakob’s athletically sound and works really hard both ways, offensively and defensively.
”He’s predominantly a high defender and is really good at anticipating the offence from the opposition.
”He knows when to leave his opponent to go to the ball or to slide back and create an extra number.
”He knows when to peel off to start offence and get a handball receive. Like Max (Michlanney) he sees the game really well.
”He was probably unlucky not to be an (U18) All-Australian, he had a really good champs for us playing as a high defender.
”I think he could play on a wing in the AFL as well. Some of the clubs who have spoken about Jakob to me have said they think he can transfer into a high-marking forward as well. So that’s exciting for Jakob.”
Any chance we pick ryan and try to make him into a mid?
Fast and great kick. Has height can put on some muscle.
Hes at a draft range we can afford without robbing next year much.

It’s why that I like that we might be keen on Ryan

Guys like those two will simply make our defence more dynamic, if they come on. Hopefully it’d allow Dawson to permanently move up the ground too lol
