  • trade back in with a future first and take phillipou

  • trade back in with a future second and take barnett

  • trade back in with a future second for someone else

  • only take MM and keep the other spot for PSD/rookie

Moir is a great talent but he's a small/medium forward
Yeah picked up he was a medium fwd. Genuine question was phillipou always a mid/fwd or a fwd that got midfield time this year?

186cm year of growing imagine he'd be closer to the 190cm mark. My limited understanding is he also has basketball background and has beautiful kick both feet.

Do you think we may see him play and midfield minutes at all next year?

I like the fact we have brought in two known performers in the last two off-seasons ... if we are aiming for that again in 2023, I don't really care that much about the draft when our first pick is so far down the list ... and I don't see the upside in spending big to trade back in to get someone who you sorta like.

MM looks like a solid F/S option - a player you want in your team when the heat is on. Of course I'd take a Daicos or two instead, but beggars can't be choosers!

MM is similar is size and shape to Ben Hart at the same age albeit maybe a little bit skinnier - skinny but also wiry and athletic. A strength of Max's is his reading of the game and can play on talls and smalls so if he can develop like we hope, he could become a very nice piece in the defence long term

Ok. That your opinion or the clubs? Care to elaborate?
No opinion on the clubs it was your reference to not doing himself any favours. It's pretty clear the Dons and Hawks haven't any problems with these so called "red flags" which have been a beat up all along.

Really hoping he at least gets the opportunity to spend some time in the middle third of the ground next year

The one that intrigues me as a bigger mid (admittedly don’t know too much yet beyond that) is McAuliffe
Kane

Which team does he support BTW?
And that's relevant how?

almost all AFL players rarely get drafted or play for the team they supported growing up.

You do realise the club he grown up playing for WWT is a Port Adelaide aligned club as well?

Phillipou has always played midfielder but gets swing forward a lot due to his height.

Moir - I hope he gets to play midfield but I cant comment on whether he's suited to that. Kicking is great and almost no difference between his right and left. Basketball background. High level basketball at that

All the clubs putting their first round picks up for sale tells you this year's draft is s**t
Aren't there also clubs potentially wanting to trade in as well? Carlton, Melbourne, us for instance

It all depends on each individual club's strategy (although I'll agree next year's top end overall seems to be of higher quality at this point)

should have kept 5 if they wanted phillipou and done a three way swap using next year first to get rankine

we all knew that
GCS did not want next years first because it would get eaten up by their two top end Academy players, much the same as what we did with Michalanney this year, and common practice with clubs with top end Academy players.
