Because as I understand, NORTH and WCE are also looking for a KPF .....which begs the question, why would NORTH give away yet another KPF in the Draft ???

Not going Logan McDonald, instead of Will Phillips, is yet again NORTH just making horrible choices
apparently they don't though.

I don't understand north, they are starting to get diminishing returns on all their mids because they won't have room to even play them all

Anyone that fancies Toby McMullin in this draft should be aware he's really a Vic Country lad (Portland), Twomey or whoever compiled that list has that wrong probably because he played for the Sandringham Dragons in the NAB League while schooling in Melbourne. :) Worth noting re flight risk.

Surely a typo on Darcy Jones' agility run...he can't be over 1 second faster than the next person can he?

Hasn’t stopped them before.

Seriously though, is it time to be able to trade players on draft night, after they’ve been drafted?
Article in the Age stating that the reason GWS wanted No. 1 Pick & seem likely to draft Cadman is simply because they don't consider him a flight risk(not being a Melbourne boy), whereas the claim is that they weren't confident about a couple of the other lads ranked highly. They didn't name anyone of course, but Sheezel, Tsatas, Wardlaw? Wow! The AFL have a problem, but being so Vic-centric they probably don't see it that way!!

4 of the vic teams need to go..

Either they are de-registered or are forced to merge and move interstate.. one to Tassie and maybe one to Darwin.

10 teams in melbourne/geelong (basically melbourne) is around 450 list spots in that region of Australia.

Reduce that by 180 and you only have 270 positions..

180 less opportuntities for Victorian’s to find a spot at a Victorian team.

But the league couldnt give a shit. They would love nothing more than to see a Victorian team be the premier every single year forever.

Its not a national comp.

Won’t that mean they just have fewer choices to go back home to… so the remaining Vic clubs get even stronger?

G'day guys, how many picks do you believe Adelaide will take to the draft?

I am wondering if there is an opportunity to trade 55 & 56 for your pick 46, to give you a ~70 point upgrade. I'm assuming Max Michaelany is bid on around the end of the second round.

We’ll take 2, 23 + Max, so that doesn’t help us

Actually I’m starting to wonder if unless someone we really like is there at 23 we should trade it for picks next year, then trade back for pick 40-ish to draft Verral after a bid comes in for Max.

We desperately need to draft a ruck and 23 might too early snd SSP might be too late.

If he really looks the goods next year and they think he is projecting as a pick 1-10 player, then it certainly would make sense to try and trade in our 2024 1st to next year and if we have another bottom 6 finish next year, we might get a bite from a team higher up to give us a crack at a very high ender
Considering it seems that next years draft picks are being viewed as more valuable..

we should trade our first next year into this year.. try get Phillipou…

then next year we trade our 2024 first to turn it into a 2023 1st…

then in 2024 it’s hopefully Welsh..

we need to speed up our midfield development. Phillipou would be a great addition this year.

I swear I saw something a day or two ago that teams were more interested in trading out of the 2nd round then getting in it.

We can always take a ruck with a rookie pick, if we want to go the project player route (which we should seeing we have ROB/Strachan contracted for the next two years).

Maybe so..but I could see a situation where we might have a deal in place in this draft for draft night where if a player we like has fallen to say 14 + on the board, we trade our 23 and F2 with our F@ likely holding significant value in a supposed strong draft. We might get that slider out of the mids if there is one. Then next year bring our 2024 F1 into the draft to take 2 top rated kids OR try and bundle to get that elite pick inside the top 5 if possible. .all contingent on welsh and how he progresses next year I suppose re the 2024 F1 and the strategy they might use

There’s definitely a lot of options.. and yeah, next years draft is being talked up as a good one.. but geez.. wouldn’t mind getting a great young midfield prospect in this year.. a year earlier.

We won’t be able to do that before 15, given the Giants made a similar deal with Brisbane for that pick

16 for 23 + F2 is probably the best we could hope for

Could we get in on gold coast, they might do pick 5 for a f3 on the night...the AFL might allow that if we were geelong
