No one cares.

If anyone cared, they'd turn up.

Even those that DO watch - like me, frankly - couldn't care less about the results.

It's a development team. The results couldn't matter less. It's nice to see the kids do well, but the results are absolutely irrelevant.

And the LAST thing we're doing is drafting a player to make our RESERVES team more likely to win. It's feel ludicrous to even type it.

If you wanted to argue that we needed mature bodies to help with development, then maybe that's not so crazy. But everything else is just nonsense.
The club cares

pretty naive

the players playing in the sanfl team need something to strive for because usually selection in the afl team simply does not happen

worrell case in point

i think its good they are emphasising the sanfl team but you misunderstand its not for is its for the players

I wouldn't take ROB off mine. I am a believer in free speech and while I don't agree with Peterson on everything I find some of his insights worth thinking about and at times a necessary corrective to some of todays political correctness.
I really believe that some of these guys don't even believe what they espouse. In a world of markets they just identify that they can make a living off what they say that has some appeal to someone.

In some ways anything which provokes thought and critical thinking is a good thing. It's the rejection of science that I have a problem with. The "My opinion trumps science", especially when people (mainly politicians) are beneficiaries of donations from vested interests that I can't stand.

Anyway, wrong thread. And who wants a ruckman with a brain anyway?

Work through 🤔

McAsey gone , and if Doods pushes too hard trade him for good currency with Max taking his spot in time.
Dawson Captain imo.

Doedee is going to be an interesting one of the culture happy clappers

Nicks has supposedly made the club fun, and everyone wants to sign apparently

But the next stage of real culture change, the meaningful stuff is convincing players they can have success here.

By the time Doedee starts his next contract he’ll be just turning 27 years old. He’s not going to swayed by promises of chocolate sprinkles and jam tomorrow, he’ll need to believe, truly believe he can have success here.

Otherwise, who can blame him for not wanting to waste his time here. He’ll get paid by a contender, so if that’s not us… why should he stay?

He might be a canary in the coal mine of what the locker room really thinks

And that was the first thought I had when the response spoke of guys committing because of belief. What is it that they're believing? It could just as easily not be about success but instead that AFC provides better coin than elsewhere at the moment and the atmosphere isn't especially demanding or pressured. But it's very telling that when posed that question he references others as buying in to the Nix culture as part of his response. I'm guessing that to some degree, Dood isn't quite as much a disciple as others.

I don’t know if he will attract big offers, he’d want to start well and stay injury free

He’ll get paid. And frankly the difference between what he might get at a contender and here isn’t going to be all that much.

Our challenge is to convince more senior players that we can compete on field
