Yep that sums up his 2022. He wasnt alone.

And out of left field wehave started using him as a 2nd ruck and playing forward. Has an incredible leap, not big bodied at all but can jump. Still contracted for two years but with Hurn playing on and Cole coming back hopefully the backline is reasonably solid for next year. Especially if Yeo goes to half back.
I cant believe Hurn is going around again.
He looked cooked last year

Maybe in other years. We've all but committed to delisting both this offseason at the moment.
Other clubs are enquiring about Berg, so reckon you are wrong on this one. I'm not saying he will land an early pick, but he will land a later pick of we trade him

No doubt they are. He's a really solid backup with some potential of being a solid 2nd KPF, and we can't keep him even if we wanted to at this point in time. Not without delisting him and putting him on with a rookie contract.

We might get a 4th-5th at best, but I wouldn't get your hopes up here for anything worthwhile.

Why is that?

Why is that?

It's does depend on what the AFL does with list changes, and if we trade out anyone (as there is no guarantees) but as it stands we need to make three list changes to our senior list to bring in Rankine and upgrade Butts/Strachan, and currently we only have three players who are out of contract on our senior list (Frampton, Rowe, Himmelberg).

You are making many assumptions as to why we couldn't keep Berg on the main list... but you are neglecting that it is likely we will be trading out a few players this year.

Also, I think list sizes change back to pre-covid, but not entirely sure.

That does worry me a little bit, sounds like the club feels like they’ve done their stint at the pointy end of the draft and wants to push up the ladder next year. From a list management perspective that shouldn’t be our goal, if they young group improves and that’s what gets us there next year fantastic, but we should be willing to cop another year out of finals and a high draft pick.

Happy to spend first rounders bringing in Rankine and JHF types, but if the club is looking at someone like Dunkley that would be a mistake IMO.

He should have said, if JHF wants to come to Adelaide, we will reluctantly give our 1st rounder to Norf
Interesting times .....hopefully, exciting times

Translation
There may not be a small midfielder available at our pick and we risk having to take a taller midfielder and we don't rate them as thats what the rookie draft is for so better trading out our pick.

Queue the criteria; we need an elite midfielder.
Nek minnut
180cm small forward and/or KPD because you can never have enough midfielders.

If they got both Rankine and Cox and keep next years picks that would be a good result.

To much water to go under the bridge for that to be an issue yet.
Seedsman may not return or could be shifted to a rookie spot. Everyone would be concerned for Hamill so who knows if something happens there.
Sholl and Crouch trade options and what is Browns future and is he wanted by anyone.

Brown is cooked, but contracted. Hard to see another club being interested, so we're probably stuck with him.

I think Seedsman will be moved to the rookie list, thence to the inactive list, replaced via the PSSP or MSD. Agree that Sholl, Crouch and (apparently) Berg are all likely to be traded (though I'm struggling to think of a club which would have interest in Crouch).

Probably some club will emerge and grab him(Crouch) as some depth and cover? No real need to chase him or show much interest given we want him gone. Any suitor plays their cards right and we may even take a small part of his salary on just to move him.

North won't trade JHF for a 1st round pick after turning down three 1st rounders 12 months ago

They'd look like idiots.

Sure they might look even dumber the year after but that's ages away and perhaps they'd pin their hopes on something changing as opposed to guaranteed humiliation now

Dunkley? Surely we are not doing a Port Power here who think they are still in the premiership window.......
