Been said multiple times that we are taking four 18 year olds in the ND, with mature agers in the rookie spots. Something would have to change (unlikely IMO). They’re clearly trying to strike the right balance with youth and experience, which has obviously been off the last few years.

Does that 4 include Cooper?

Is the previous poster correct in saying we have 4 rookie sports available?

so unless we move Spicer or Jack Mahoney to the Rookie list,

(which will mean we only have 3 Rookie picks available),

we wont be using ND picks 40 and 43 this year.

Is that right ?
Unless something else changes, this is it. The release says we have finalised our list.

We take 2,3,23,40 to the draft (4 senior spots).

Yeah I assume we have a trade ready for those 2 picks that we will execute prior to the draft

I'm not convinced 16 other clubs will be fighting with us for Liam Shiels in order for us to feel like we need to use Pick 1.
Last year the swans got paddy Martin through the SSP.
He didn't nominate for either draft.
We should do that with Shiels if we want him.

Honestly, even if we have Shiels train with us over pre-season without the promise of a list spot, could help drive training standards, ultimate professional. A couple blokes fighting, busting their guts for list spots will also help, will make training more competitive, and can uncover diamonds in the rough.

I could be wrong but don't SPP players go on the main list? If so that would mean we would only be able to take 3 in the main draft.

I'd go
4 nd picks.
1 Rd pick.
5 players train with us over the summer for the last 3 spots. Jed Walker and Shiels among the last group.

Nope rookie list.
Need to be named like 2 weeks from the season starting. Supercoach gold, cheapest players in the game.

Agree with the above except let’s make it interesting and the competition for those last spots becomes Squid Game.
