North Melbourne will use four picks at the national draft and have nominated Cooper Harvey as a father-son selection, with the Roos to also have multiple rookie draft selections on November 30.

Hawthorn triple premiership player Liam Shiels was linked to the Kangaroos when Alastair Clarkson was signed as a mature-age option, and he remains a chance to be in the mix for the Roos. That would only be as a rookie, however, and not a delisted free agent as their four primary list spots will be used at the draft, meaning other clubs could also consider Shiels.

We should be looking at Stein, he’d be very handy KPD depth at the very least.

I think we should rookie Jasper Pittard.

Delisting Polec, wouldn’t be surprised if we rewarded Tom Williamson with a contract.

I hope so. Still has scope for improvement and fills a need.
We could do worse than having a hard running, decent kicking/tackling 190cm winger.

I also think it’s fair strategy the hawks use, dangling the vfl system as a pathway in front of players. Demonstrating its posible could help

Yes, if we only run with 36 on the main list. Edwards and Dawson are the two rookies plus up to six others. More likely we go with 37 or 38.
Why does it matter how many we have on the main list? We were given two extras spots on the rookie list from the draft concessions.

Cant we move Spicer & Mahoney to the rookie list & rookie Anderson & Shiels, allowing us to have more room on the main list?

We can have a maximum of 44 players including 36-38 on the main list. Yes, we can move players back, and probably will move one or two.

So with the two extra rookie spots does that mean we could have 46 on our list? 38 main & 8 rookies?

No the 2 extra rookie spots took our total from 42 that other teams have to 44

38 and 6 is what we will go with

Currently 4 vacant on each list

Probably. Though if nobody bids on Harvey we may rookie list him instead. We may also push a player back to the rookie list and not draft a player to replace them.

And you can also have two cat b rookies so 44.
Got too many rules this afl mob!

So if we move Spicer & Mahony to the rookie list, we could use all our picks (currently 5) and also pick up a DFA while also selecting Anderson & Shiels in the rookie draft?

If you move spicer and Mahony to rookie list it gives us 6 picks 2,3,23,40,43 and 70 for cooper

And would mean we still have 2 rookie spots free

Any thought on delisted free agents can they go straight on the rookie list and do we think we will take any in this period
