So it was essentially -

Out: JHF, Pick 2, *Freo F3 was a freebie (not included)
In: Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 11 (avg '23), Pick 20 (40 and 40 move in a few and the value of them combined is around 20).

A tad unders. The pick 20 should have been around 15 ideally but oh well. Seems like this draft really evens out after that range away, so there's not much difference between pick 20 and 40.

Pick 3 - Wardlaw
Pick 4 - Tsatas/Sheezel
Pick 37 - Lemmey/Scully/Van Es/Weddle
Pick 40 - Teal/Binns/Schuback/Darcy Jones
Pick 45 - Cooper Harvey

How many list spots do we have?

There's got to be a cheap kew fwd out there, to help take the pressure, off Larkey. Actually, our entire fwd line. It doesn't have to be a 5-6 year investment. Someone to shoulder the load, especially if there's an injury. As I've already said, if Gold Coast can find Levi Casboult to kick 35 goals, and crash packs, surely we aren't that inept? There's always one, out there.

I'm sick of seeing the ball come in, Larkey getting double/triple teamed, getting frustrated with the umps, fixing his hair, and the ball coming straight back out.

If I'm not mistaken the Bowes deal hasn't been completed yet. Could we swap 40 and 43 to Brisbane for 21, giving them some extra points and then offer this to the GC and enhance Bowes contract deal a little bit to get the GC's pick 7?

Zurhaar’s reaction just shows how untenable it would have been if we didn’t trade JHF. Our playing group couldn’t be expected to play alongside JHF next year and Brady and co. obviously knew that.

Happy we will have a fully committed and united group next year, with new talent and an ELITE coach and cheers to no longer having that sideshow that was JHF.

And to the Bull, love you!

Righto, I’ve calmed down a bit and tried to think about this rationally.

For a bit of context, to say JHF was disliked was a bit of an understatement. Rumour from inside the club was there was a bit of a dust up during the silly Sunday celebrations this year between JHF and Bull, He also made some very ordinary comments about a certain club legend who still works at the club. There was some other stuff that he allegedly did that for his sake I hope is incorrect otherwise if I was him I’d grow eyes in the back of my head when he plays North next year.

With that in mind when a player is as cancerous as this you don’t wait and see if he can improve his attitude the next year, the risk to team morale is too great, you just get rid of him.

Now onto the trade. It seems like West Coast were only going to give us pick 2 if they got pick 12 from GWS and GWS knew that.

GWS had us over a barrel and were already giving up 3, 12 and a future 2nd for pick 1.

As a north supporter I would have loved an extra late first round but GWS would have been negligent to give it to us and since we were still getting the player we want (if GWS take Cadman) we mustn’t have thought fighting for an extra pick was worth tanking the deal over.

Just my two cents but JHF had to go and it seems like we did the best we could in the circumstances.

Ah well 🤷🏻‍♂️
Thanks for the post. Would be interested to hear the other stuff but guess you don't want to elaborate on it. His attitude throughout the year seemed horrendous with all the little things on and off field. With the stuff you just posted on top maybe we dodged a bullet when he requested a trade and we ended up with reasonable compensation, although less then we all hoped when putting it all together. It will be really interesting to follow his career and see if the poor attitude stays with him, or he pulls it together now that he got what he wanted and becomes the elite player everyone expects.

Anyway bring on the draft!

I hear Weids is available...

**** cadman, bruce and whoever else

back in Larks, Chom and CCJ. Give them a genuine chance under a proper coach with a functional forward structure, and a fair run with their bodies, to show that they're the men. We haven't even seen a fraction of what Chom can be -- with his body the obvious caveat

If not, have a look in 12 month's time for an experienced option to partner Larks

It’s a moot point but had we taken Adelaide’s offer for pick 1 last year there is no doubt *** would have been happy living at home and had an excellent year and we would have copped it left, right and centre for passing up on a generational talent. We can’t win no matter what we do. Accept the trade for what it is, move on and draft a couple of upstanding citizens who are pretty bloody good at football.

Heaps of emotion around this including our own David King. In the space of minutes, he completely contradicted himself. He praised PAFC for leveraging so much from pick 8 which he says was a speculative pick because it was outside the top 5 where the elite players were usually found. Then despite the NMFC securing two of those top 5 picks, he said the Club was in crisis for us walking Cadman to GWS. Make your mind up Kingy.

If we can't find another tall, I think Walker has to stay.

What will be interesting is if the antics of JHF continue at his new club and he gets their playing list offside as well.

If we just want someone to crash packs and kick the odd goal like Casboult then it would probably be worth giving Kallan Dawson a run in the forward line.

Yeah sure mate, I agree.

Posters on here bagged Daicos all year (outside, soft, no damage etc) compared to our now removed arrogant prick we had was so "special" - it's bullshit, Daicos is and was the better player all year as you stated.

JHF will be quality i have no doubt, but I'm far from sad to see him go,

I embrace our staff working a great result for US.

I'm very passionate as only been banned 17 times or so.

I want the best for North and I believe we have done extremely well and if others don't, they are entitled to think however they wish.

North with Clarkson we will rebound quickly, I'm convinced of it.

Cheers.

Saintly/Choppy/MLC
JHF wanted out. He is now out.

I'm ok with the trade.

Unfortunately, as good as Daicos was and will be we all know the JHF will be a much more exhilarating, dynamic and better player than Daicos.

Daicos is tagable.

JHF won't be.

He will be dominating the comp in 2-3 years time.

Will bloody hurt watching him rip it up but we move on.

In Clarko I trust.

I could really use a xerri trade theory right about now mate. Change the subject.
Got any for us?

Yep. I now do.

I traded Xerri for a speculative future 3rd and you can pack his bags and drive him there.(could be Perth or Brisbane, so fill up your tank up in advance)

As a big fan of Xerri I think we've done well in my deal.

Yes will be very interesting to see how it unfolds particularly given his contract 6 X $800K (I think that’s right). He’ll be under a lot of pressure.
