It’s a moot point but had we taken Adelaide’s offer for pick 1 last year there is no doubt *** would have been happy living at home and had an excellent year and we would have copped it left, right and centre for passing up on a generational talent. We can’t win no matter what we do. Accept the trade for what it is, move on and draft a couple of upstanding citizens who are pretty bloody good at football.
Fair point

I’m glad we gave ourselves a chance with him

It didn’t work out but if he was slightly more mentally strong he would have stayed

Yes will be very interesting to see how it unfolds particularly given his contract 6 X $800K (I think that’s right). He’ll be under a lot of pressure.
Its bigger than it seems that contract.
Port have to pay him rookie wages next year.

What will be interesting is if the antics of JHF continue at his new club and he gets their playing list offside as well.

We can only hope. There may already be a few raised eyebrows at the 6 year deal he has apparently signed. That is an incredibly long contract for someone in their 2nd season, even given the (believed to be) generational talent he is.

What if what we saw this year, which at times was very exciting, actually turns out to be the real ability of the bloke?

Polec money.

Polec seems happy in family life, wouldn't know what a Sherrin looks like whilst *ed us over completely. Doubt he cares whatsoever.

I think this "pressure" is overrated.

The AFL is becoming more like American sport every day when the $ means everything and loyalty means nothing.

100% confirmed to me by a very very very reliable source that JHF wasn’t too popular amongst the playing group and is indeed super size figjam. Whether this was part of his master plan to leave or is just a bona fide unwashed and uneducated w***er we’ll find out soon enough. If he starts with the attitude at Port then they have a major problem child on their hands and we’ll be breathing a sigh of relief. He now has a target on his back so will be interesting to see how this campaigner reacts. A pick 1 should be a total pro on and off the field. Anyway **** him and I hope the campaigner cops the karma bus or better still a Zurhaar hip and shoulder. He simply had to go unfortunately. A ****ing waste of a pick 1. Hopefully the 2&3 we pick up bring with them a professional attitude and that Port screw things up next year and we get another top 10 pick. Just deflating that we can’t seem to nail our top picks. We seem to be in a permanent state of rebuild. Hopefully this Clarko rubbish gets sorted soon and we can start looking like a footy side again.

I doubt many players are thrilled he will essentially be their highest paid player

They have a Brownlow medallist who is probably on that or just under

You would think he will eventually mature but might take til mid 20s

By then he would have already pissed off too many

"superstar talent"

Nah. Reckon we got sucked in last year tbh.
He's gone so i hope you're right - but i stand by it. You look at the what he was able to as a first year player, spinning through traffic as he did, was close to taking probably 6 huge hangers through the year too plus his stats were damn good.
Many people were saying at the start of the year he was already our best player, how quickly we forget - all while having a rough year in a shit team.

from that article:

“We’re potentially picking two of our best two or three players in this year’s draft and we’re still sniffing around Hunter as well.”
I really want clark. If for nothing else it will help us extend LDU.

I really don’t know with him. How many pick 1’s in recent times behaved like this idiot did on and off the field. Not many. They are usually ready made players, good citizens, attitude etc. He just might indeed be a complete ****wit. Hope so.

pick2- wardlaw
Pick3- sheezel

On trade pick 40&43 to Brisbane for pick 21

Pick21- gruzewski (194cm key forward with a huge leap) it’s not all doom and gloom

If it netted us Clark it doesnt look that bad, but not sure 21 would be enough? We could use those skills off half back for the next decade.
