As the dust settles I think we made ourselves stronger for next year and the years after that when it all washes out.

JOM could be surprisingly good for the next few years and you can see him fitting in perfectly with the rest of the squad.

Have two half decent picks in 30 and 44 as well as upgrading everything next year except our first is fine.

Most impressive move was not being stupid with Sharp IMO and paying something completely ridiculous which it sounds like GC wanted. He'll be basically free next year if he wants to join still
I reckon Gold Coast have hated us since Brodie and Weller, and held firm to save face.

But this is the thing, with Lobb there, how do we play Tracey and Amiss. They are both going to be stars, but we need to play them. Lobb is so hot and cold it’s not funny. And doesn’t even want to be there.

Amiss stood up in 2 finals !! Imagine with another pre-season into him. Amiss, tabs, Corbett, Omera dropping forward, Fyfe, Tracey, fredericks, walters, Switta, Shultz. Pheweew there is some goals there

Oh… and Jackson and Darcy kick them too

Retaining Lobb gave us the option to ease them in/protect them when needed. Especially Amiss who will likely still be on the lighter side even after another pre-season. I don't think his body holds up to 22+ rounds of AFL footy next year. Now the onus is on Taberner to stay fit and a combination of two 2nd/3rd year Forwards + a ruck-forward to increase our scoring power. Hopefully our work entering 50 improves to make things a little easier for them but on the balance of probabilities, it's going to be at least a little tougher to kick game-winning scores next year.

In saying that, if (lol) Lobb was a toxic influence then he had to go and it's a silver lining that someone like Treacy will get more exposure at AFL level. Cerra leaving was going to set us back and had the opposite effect so it's not a sure thing that we'll slide next year just from losing Lobb.

Getting JOM is a smarter acquisition the more I think about it. He doesn't have to be a superstar, he just has to provide another option to pick up the slack when Serong and Brayshaw can't get it done. We might win games next year with a makeshift forwardline through sheer weight of i50s and midfield dominance.

My thoughts are Gold Coast have had enough of us over Brodie and Weller, and held firm for no other reason but to save face.

They burned their own house down behind us while telling us they couldn't possibly accept more than $50,000 for the boat we were trying to buy

Because his mates are living and playing in Victoria.

I sure as s**t hopes he finds a local WA lass who he falls madly in love with who will never leave the state due to close ties to her family.
JOM closest friend in Cogs is at the Giants, a club that he could have played for.

You guys are putting way to much stock into the “mates” side of things, they come and go and never have any real bearing on trades.

I feel for St Kilda though.

De Goey missed. Cordy in, meh. Couldn't offload Hill, couldn't upgrade selling Hunter. Fleeced Gold Coast over Ben Long.

Norths PP isn’t anywhere near reasonable for a guys who barely played
I think they would've accepted less but apparently we weren't keen on negotiating which seemed to really piss him off. We offered a f3 (probably norths) and didn't even try improving our offer lol.
