Andrew McGrath has put off contract talks. Personally I think there's a bit of value in some of Essendon's players. Only issue is having to deal with Dodoro.
Let's not talk about Essington players yeah? Any other club is fine, even Freo, but not Essington.

There's plenty of clubs out there that look to be hitting rebuild stage or have SC pressure.
West Coast, Port, Richmond, Gold Coast and the Giants all have some reason to jettison players.
But not Essington. Why would you talk about Essington? Of course you wouldn't...

McGrath is the one player worth looking at in there squad , the year before last Merett was looking at moving on however they must of sweetened his deal to make him change his mind.
A lot of these team's have disgruntled players who want out but the question is how much are they worth.
Taranto , McGrath , Dunkley , Brayshaw , DeGoey , Rankine , Lukosuis , Luke Jackson , Tim English , are very good player's who have not signed.
With our side having young players developing like Owens , Milera and Windhager are we better off to going to the draft again.
We know the club has some cash left knowing they were looking at getting Ben King and we will be heading into the draft with a full hand which something we have not had in a very long time so it will be interesting what they do.
I fully expect they will not overpay for anyone and they will see who shakes loose , because a few team's could have to move a player on to fix salary cap problems.

How about Kent and a packet of Salt and Vinegar chips

May need to sweeten the deal a bit more

Dodoro: 12 years List Manager.
Essington: 8 years non finalist, 18 years since last finals win.

Cause or effect?

What level of responsibility does he shoulder?
This is Trout level incompetence.

I reckon it's like Carlton. They were broken after getting caught cheating. They have had lists capable of playing finals and haven't been able to move forward as did the blues. This year looks bit like our 2021 where the more difficult fixture, key injuries and a loss of confidence has knocked them around.

I think that they'll be right in a couple of years. A lot of last years growth was in their youth group. A lot haven't backed up but that talent doesn't disappear, it just drops back a bit until they develop. McGrath and Parish alone look like two A graders under Dildo and he's found some good youth and other top players. Ironically it's their high priced trade ins that have been their biggest **** ups. Trout could put his hand into a box of chocolates and pull out a turd.

They had really easy draw last year and were always going to struggle with a harder fixture for 2022. They're still missing a genuine key forward and no Tippa hasn't helped them much.

The Age reporting we're interested in Rory Lobb.

Makes a whole lot of sense.

Yuck. Hopefully it's only if Marshall doesn't re-sign and we chase another more dominant first ruck to fill in between Paddy and Heath.

If Paddy doesn't go around again, you'd think that Goldy makes more sense (as a UFA) rather than trading a pick for Lobb (and dealing with the angry garden gnome again).

It really is just a stop gap until young Heathy is ready to go.

This is Paddy's last year. Heath is still a complete unknown.

We need another mature ruckman or ruck/fwd

Heath isn't really a complete unknown. He's already dominated a few VFL games as a 19 year old... IMO he's moved into the 'promising' category now.

I'd rather a true ruck still. Lobb put a crazy price on his head last time. He's a GOP and would only be worth about half of what he was getting at Freo.

Rucks usually hit prime form around 27 to 30. I think we'd want a player to sit between him and what we have now.

He dominated 1 VFL game against another 19 year old ruck.

He might be showing some signs but nothing suggests he is close to being ready for AFL level anytime soon.

Many can contribute pretty early on though... Grundy was a pretty key player for the Pies from his 2nd year, Goldy too.

A year or two of Paddy/Goldy gives Heathy time to fill out a bit and develop. Wouldn't be surprised if he's more than capable by the time he's 21.

Makes a lot of sense. A fwd/ruck who we can pair with Marshall immediately.

He isnt worth the contract 700k he is currently on so the main question I would have is how much would be cost both pick wise and contract wise.

Lobb is an average forward and and below average ruckman. They paid a fortune for him. We'd have to give them Marshall, Jones and Hunter Clark and three first round draft picks in Bell's trade world.

They are the rare ones though.

Wasn't saying soon. Unless 2 years away is considered soon.

While they're different types of players, I recall plenty of posters stating categorically that Sharman wasn't ready, that NWM was a long term prospect, Windy was a long way of playing seniors, etc... so no one can really knows when Heath will be ready.

Lobb will form part of a 3 way trade.

Giants get Lobb
Dogs get Flynn
Freo get English

Bunch of picks etc exchanged to balance things out.

Bake it to the Tank and bookmark it with your house on it.
