Very high probability they will always be in rebuild modeIt will be interesting to see what Richmond have to give up to land those players.
You can safely say GWS are in a rebuild.

For all the crap we get imagine being a Giants supporter and losing quality as often as they do. It would be seriously terrible.Very high probability they will always be in rebuild mode
Pick 21 - "squandered on Hugh Goddard"Stanley was expected to be the next Riewoldt by the St Kilda hierarchy, he was never going to be that.
He was going to be a decent AFL mobile ruckman who could rest forward and kick a couple of goals.
Geelong gave us a fair exchange for an up and coming ruckman which we completely squandered on Hugh Goddard.
The history and facts are there.
3 games so let’s not talk it up too much, all early in the season before being dropped. You’ll also notice his goal assist numbers are down. Anyway I’ll stick by what I said may not be best 22.He can cheat all he likes if that's what some w***ers want to call it , other small forwards don't cheat LOL
If cheating gets you bags of 4 and 5 , cheat your heart out jack

pick 32 for Jones pick 56 for ButlerDidn't we give up pick 6 and a couple of seconds Acres and Bruce for Paddy, Hill, Jones, Butler, and Doogs?
We only had one first rounder and got 5 players with it if I recall.
Nah, just peak Bigfooty speculation. No way Clark is going anywhere, except the local take away to get some dim sims.So we would trade out Clark, a 23 y.o with still a huge upside, just so we could have the collateral to pay for a million $ 28 y.o Whitfield.
Peak Saints trading then and there.
Honestly you take out injuries and some natural development and people extremely harsh on both Coff and ClarkYep we had draft picks 7 & 8 to get Clark and Coffield in.
Used pick 25 to get Long
Gave up a 1st rounder and a couple of 2nd rounders for Hill
No good getting in draft picks again if the same people are in charge
pick 32 for Jones pick 56 for Butler
and what ever way you look at it we got taken to the cleaners by Freo in the Hill deal
Yeah, we should only draft players who aren't going to get injured. What were they thinking?History says it was squandered.
His stalking worked so well they missed out on pick 6, which we used to get Howard and Ryder and pick 10.Blake Acres was a fan favourite of so many Saints fans.
He offered something we did not have and still do not have.
It almost felt like Peter Bell was stalling to up the price for Hill. Bell was publically criticised for the deal... look who is having the last laugh now.
That's true and there's still time for both of them. Discussion re. Clark is obly because somebody said we'd part if we were given overs for him. There's a price for everyone on the list and for me, a 1st round pick is overs for Clark. Many disagree and that's fine. It would help if he found out where the gym is.Honestly you take out injuries and some natural development and people extremely harsh on both Coff and Clark

It's really irrelevant where journalists have somewhere ranked on their draft boards.Pick 21 - "squandered on Hugh Goddard"

I think it's fair to be honest, fans are confused at what direction the club is going?2 seasons of missing finals.
Twice we have gone missing for half a season and no one has stood up to stop the rot.
But a name gets linked for a trade and big footy freaks out.
A player gets linked to us and they won’t add any value to the list/they are trouble/cost too much
Don’t change fellas.
when the name linked to us is some delisted old spud then you'd expect a negative reaction2 seasons of missing finals.

I'm probably sick in the head but I wouldn't mind a complete cleanout and start again on the proviso that they will do the rebuild the way that has historically worked for other clubs which is to stuff the list full of young talent through the draft and then top up with the missing pieces rather than sit around and hold out hope in the unknown of building a list through trade and experience and adding missing pieces through the draft.
We also don't know if this is the ceiling for this group or not because it could be a case of the coaching holding them back from really firing. It seemed that way under GT, he took us to prelims and finals but we couldn't make that next leap and Ross came in and was the push we needed to go up another gear.
I really love what North are doing in bringing in a really experienced coach and letting build a football department in his vision whilst stockpiling talent through the draft. I have far more faith in that working than what we're doing but that's only because I can actually see examples of it's success. We might be the first club to rebuild in reverse and without any quantifiable evidence of it working it's impossible to know how it ends.
I think it's fair to be honest, fans are confused at what direction the club is going?
We admitted that topping up didn't work in the past but that seems to be the only types we are linked to.
Do we honestly think these types will have us competing for a flag?
Happy to wait to see how it unfolds before I pass judgement but I'm not sure I'm confident in the path we are heading down at this stage
Instead of bringing in old blokes and trading out young blokes I'd love for us to target a few young fellas like Bruhn etc but haven't heard us linked to him once
I was also referring to De Goey and no just Hartigan.when the name linked to us is some delisted old spud then you'd expect a negative reaction
the reaction to clark maybe traded has been pretty measured
Absolute horse s**t.....you seem to be the absolute general of making the absolute worst of situations. It's just about laughable.
That pick for Stanley was widely regarded as a win for us. Stanley played about 5 good games for saints and was as inconsistent as you could get.
He's been a bit better at Geelong, but not much....
Some of the shite you dribble is absolutely laughable

Ok, I was referring to Mitchell and Hardigan.I was also referring to De Goey and no just Hartigan.
I think we need one more good draft year like last and then go out looking to top up again with some big names as long as we can nail those picks. It's insane to do the ground up rebuild now. Richmond have drafted well in the last few years like Sydney did, they are now adding two star quality young mids and all of a sudden look closer than us again.
If the Saints refresh they need to get serious and trash the people that stuffed up the last one up. Cut back on numbers of footy department staff and only bring in quality. Start with a quality coach who is there to build the list properly. To me we need to get rid of just about everyone in the footy department if we start over. I'd probably boot the entire board and clean out everyone from the president down too. They've had a go but they aren't up to it.
