But this isn't one of them. The comments on Higgins were after the Pies game in Rd 1. Then over the course of the next 9 games, had games like the ones below.

In amongst others he was concussed twice and still managed to kick a goal in one of them.

Easy target all clubs blame the coach, have a look at Essendon coaching isn't just 1 person it's a group of coaches & Lenny will have a big influence on how we progress, theres about 20 to 30 who post on BF so 1/2 of that is 15.

Except that's (no offense intended) the dullards interpretation of those who take such a view.
It's an all too common quirk of the human psyche to attribute stupidity to an opposing view. In so doing, it attributes the virtue of having the greater intellect and reaffirms the individuals own view, be it correct or not. As people double and triple down on their own opinion it becomes an egocentrically driven feedback loop that can't be escaped. The echo chambers of social media have accentuated the syndrome in the last 2 decades which is why society is becoming demonstrably dumber and opinion has become the primary social currency.

The posters on here who believe Rattan should be removed also believe the list still needs work, the over-site from the executive needs improving and whole host of other things which they have written about time after time and page after page. It's just that Rattan now has 3 years of exposed form with StKilda and 5 or so at Carlton, and for many they no longer see scope for footballing progression under his reign. That doesn't mean other issues do not exist.

However, those who insist the players are the only issue, whilst being somewhat correct in their views, neglect the reality that the list has just been massively turned over in the last 3 years. Also neglecting to acknowledge that said faulty players are the joint responsibility of departments of Coaches, List managers, Recruiters, Development staff, Fitness staff and Psychologists all of whom seem to escape their Rath
These same posters are the same ones who had exactly the same opinion when Richo was taking the club nowhere, yet they fail to notice the contradiction of maintaining the same opinion whilst almost all personnel at the club have been rotated in that time.
This is the result of yet another quirk of the human psyche which allows people to believe that things are always simple, whilst failing to recognize that it's their own inability to comprehend multifaceted concepts that lies at the heart of the matter. This is often referenced in this place as "the Dunning Kruger effect", however it's important to note that syndrome occupies a spectrum and is not a binary function so labeling an individual as a "Dunning Kruger" may also be a complement, though it is seldom used in that context here.

I don't think those who blame the players honestly believe Ratten is a good coach. Nor do I think those who blame Ratten believe the list is where it needs to be.
The only one thing I am sure about is that those who hold an opposing view to myself are idiots, and I am so sick of reading their f*****g bullshit page after friggn page in a endless stream of mind sapping mental diarrhea that only the truly pathetic would subject themselves to day after friggn day, year after friggn year.

In isolation, it looks like a bad deal.

But pick one pick 9 and then a second plus 1.5 million in SC (they would need to take all the salary of both) this year and 900k extra next year would give us leverage.

We need to see the big picture of trades after TP to see if that would be good or not.
