Haha, he's only 22 I think. Looks 42 in that photo

We will have to go down that path if we can't bring trade a key defender in. He looks ready to go with plenty of upside.
I watched his highlights from the sandy game. He certainly had a day out and he’s a good size, the only thing that worried me was he didn’t actually really fly for anything. I’d like to see some highlights of him coming over the top to spoil, if he has a decent leap then I’m on board.

How we are not speaking of Allison being delisted , by the fact of his ludicrous extension , is ridiculous

He wouldn’t be close to a game in the VFL if he wasn’t our listed player. Horrible drafting decision
As much as we like to call the extension ridiculous, it is fairly standard that first round picks get a 2 year extension on their initial contract. Particularly when they were drafted as a 'project player' with no expectation they would play in their first few years.

It would probably be more ridiculous to draft someone as a long term prospect and then delist them after that initial contract without giving them that development time.

If the question is between Kyle Hartigan (turning 31 in November) or Ethan Phillips (23 y o) who has just made VFL TOTY and won the VFL Rising Star, I know who I'm taking.

I watched the VFL Prelim between Southport and the Suns on the weekend and wouldn't be surprised to see someone give Jacob Dawson a go as a delisted free agent. He's been very dominant these last 2 seasons in the VFL as an inside mid and didn't seem to really get much of a go at the Suns when he was there.

Not sure I'd pay much attention to Lloyd on this stuff though, he's fully media-indoctrinated these days - very good at just saying random stuff for the sake of it. "Should I research this? Nah can't be bothered. I'll just say whatever comes into my head when the cameras are rolling."

That is true but probably fair as well. Very similar types but two prime extractors sets them up nicely. Inside contested ball players are back in vogue and Taranto is proven to be able to rest up forward. The stand rule has made winning inside ball a much more important component. Richmond had the opposite set up for years where they let others win clearance and then bullied the ball back off them.

We have a lot of inside/outside balanced mids but not many contested beast, ball-pigs. I would like one for us. Owens and Windy seem to have a bit of that but a long way off owning the centre square.

Neither does May, he's as flat footed as they come but just positions himself like a truck over your driveway. He plays a similar game. Just parks in his spot and owns it. Both look like the ball is being deliberately kicked to them.

I’d still like to see him launch, may can fly when he needs to.

You can't just click your fingers in one draft and fix what you should have been doing 6 years ago.
If you try you just make things worse.
You can if you get three top 5 picks for free like Collingwood, or 2 top 5, and 3 top 15-20 picks for free like Sydney

You don't think 17 other clubs are asking Ethan Phillips either

In only watching one highlights package, you've already identified what draft central has as his weaknesses and likely why he hasn't been drafted yet.

STRENGTHS: Kicking, strength, play reading, footy smarts
IMPROVEMENTS: Vertical leap, speed
