Today's update on the Hill and Clark situations is there is no change

North’s new coach Alastair Clarkson is quickly becoming the AFL’s answer to the Pied Piper as he aggressively works alongside list boss Brady Rawlings to add more mature talent to the existing playing group.

But Tucker is believed to have been on Rawlings’ radar before Clarkson was appointed.

St Kilda’s Ben Long, who has since nominated Gold Coast, Hunter Clark and Bradley Hill, as well as wantaway Giant Tanner Bruhn, have all met with or been linked with North Melbourne since the season ended.

Bruhn is yet to officially declare his preference but is leaning towards Geelong, while there have been no developments with Clark in the past fortnight.

Hill is contracted until 2025 at the Saints but played in the Hawks’ flag three-peat from 2013-15 under Clarkson, so it is a situation to monitor.

This post needs more algebra.

I'm a hippy, I prefer to go algebra-less.

IIRC that rumour was all your responsibility.
Have you anything something for this year?

Correct.
I'm now retired from attempting to start a big footy rumour that results in the club actually chasing a player.

I feel like we got pretty close to crossing over from bigfooty fantasy land to real life club land though with heeney.

We probably just need to wait till we hire a better trainee receptionist to pass it on.

Remind me which contracted player Gags has sold low? Oh that right you can't.

More outright garbage shitposting. You really have an issue with reality.
Josh bruce, go out and buy a key forward.

Just the headline says it all really.

It’s the last paragraph that we furiously agree on and without evidence to the contrary I would sit tight and wait for others to convince us to trade him.

We don’t have salary cap pressure. IMO Hill is still a bloody good footballer (despite some who disagree with this) and as long as the club thinks his motivation and professionalism is not an issue then we keep him unless another club comes up with a worthwhile deal.

I have no idea about what is going on behind the scenes but if there is toxicity then obviously that changes things. But the club has said he is a required player so that is good enough for me.

Yeah I mean obviously internally they have all the evidence they need one way or the other.

I think they're always going to say he's a "required player", it's the only negotiating power they have. But if the rumours on here are true then they'll be shopping him around furiously behind the scenes.

As for him being a bloody good footballer - well yeah, relative to you and me. Relative to the AFL, not really. He's a solid B grader, nowhere near the upper echelon. Never been in the AA squad, never had more than 4 brownlow votes in a season, never picked up a lot of coaches votes. As a solid B grade outside player he's fairly replaceable. D-Mac performs a very similar role to a very similar level and no-one says he's a bloody good footballer.

This IP stuff is utter BS , Sorry mate but we had Two port players and that helped us how , Two swans Hanners and Jones helped how
It was a throw away comment, not really my point.

However if you've been at a footy club, bringing players in with different perspectives and ideas always helps.

All the players you've raised have come into a young and poorly skilled team, doesn't matter what IP they bring when we can't execute any game plan!

“James was the standout candidate in a quality field of applicants,” Lethlean said.
“He has enjoyed a long and distinguished professional football and coaching career and understands the demands on players and the attributes required to play at the top level."

Sounds like a complimentary skill set to his first hand football knowledge.
I can't imagine why you left it off.
Can’t imagine my Leathlean left out that they were and are best mates and have been for years
But that had nothing to do with him getting the job even though he had no experience as a list manager lol

Close to the most important job in a club
And we choose someone that had never done it before
It’s a joke also great mates with Hanneberys Dad

Lethlean is a Victorian that went to Camberwell Grammar

Gallagher was a SA who went to Sacred Heart
They are both members of this place. Coincidence ?

There are other clubs keen on Clark 👍

A harsher view from some quarters is that St Kilda has been infiltrated by a group of Lethlean-linked outsiders including inexperienced list chief James Gallagher, commercial manager Chris Larkins and recruitment consultant Graeme “Gubby” Allan.

Larkins worked with Lethlean at AFL House and played in two premiership under his coaching at Old Xavs in 2009 and 2010, while Gallagher, a banker who played 38 games for the Adelaide Crows, was a personal friend.

And they are all Pentecostals. It's a worry.

Yeah because he's an A grade Talent that's gettable "for the right price"...
Just watch this go horribly wrong in hurry. Early first plus to early first to late first to early second. At which point clark will rightly feel unwanted and will demand a trade to another club we‘ve allowed to sweet talk him. Laughable club, I briefly had pride in the club as an adult first with Thomas then Lyon but then the wheels fell off again. We should just headhunt a star whose all about the money to go with max, then we can go back to being wrapped in a couple of great players and forget all about winning.
