Gillon McLaclanCaro on Footy Classified re our review.
A big name about to be appointed as Head of Footy over Rath and Gags, who wants to go back to SA but remain as list manager.
Bassett is, in her words, “ sick of mediocrity.”
Hope I got that right.
So who is it we are “trading in” as head of footy?
**Ha, beaten by the Joff! Faster fingers
Sounds like it was during his time. They mention during the flag years in the article.Correct me if I'm wrong but this was well before rattens time at hawthorn?

Mowman, you may be getting what you want.

Pretty sure. That’s why he couldn’t possibly have made up his mind yetIsn’t he meeting Essendon next week?
Don’t care what they say he isn’t going for a second round pickPretty sure. That’s why he couldn’t possibly have made up his mind yet
Considering he's also overseas lol I doubt he hasPretty sure. That’s why he couldn’t possibly have made up his mind yet
If the rumors are true that our club is actively pushing him out the door, that may be what they accept. I really hope we keep him, he has so much potential, just needs a season without any unlucky freak accidentsDon’t care what they say he isn’t going for a second round pick
He was also appointed by Costa and the Geelong board as football operations manager in 2007 to mentor Thompson at Geelong when they rose up to premiers.Balme wasn’t a failed Melbourne coach. He got them into a Preliminary Final in 1994 after his team won 2 finals that year.
He also was a successful coach at Norwood in SA and coached the SA state of origin team in the 1980s.
He was one of the toughest players I even saw play and was full forward in the Tigers back-to-back Premierships in 1973-74.
If we could land him that would be amazing. Everywhere he has been success has followed. Doubt he leaves his beloved Tigers though.
My job here is so much fun sometimes1966 is your last flag....still looks like it's another 60 years away. What a rabble....drowning in debt and no young talent. Looking real grim lads
I honestly think some supporter won’t be able to take it. I don’t know about you but I’m getting pretty sick of being the laughing stock of the aflIf the rumors are true that our club is actively pushing him out the door, that may be what they accept. I really hope we keep him, he has so much potential, just needs a season without any unlucky freak accidents

Who says we have escaped this with Ratten serving alongside Clarko for six years. Time will tell if he had any involvement.
