Tom McCartin anyone? His trade value is diminishing with every Geelong inside 50

They are a great team with ordinary pieces. Put ordinary pieces in the Saints side and we just have more ordinary pieces to add to a huge pile.

Does anyone wish the Saints were playing in this GF?

Honestly I'd take just scraping into finals again. We are not even relevant any more. More likely to get another spoon than a flag in the next 5 years.

So the club aided him in concealing illegal activity for years.....and the fans knew nothing of it, but we are hypocrites for it? Wow, that's the kind of logic that runs our recruiting department. That's the kind of toxic, morally bankrupt stuff that the Hawks ended up taking to the extreme.

If JDG is doing anything like that perhaps it's best that we don't go after him. Reminded me of this tweet.

Is this the same saint francis who's got to work himself up into a lather over the world cup in Qatar.

How many people were killed and hurt to make that event happen.

Getting bad vibes about DeGoey

What does it say about a bloke when he's got a 5 year deal from a club that has looked after him for years and has just missed out on playing a GF by a bees dick but he won't sign because it has a behavioural clause?

It's starting to look like another thing that will blow up in St Kildas face if he comes.

I Would take a morally bankrupt 3peat.

And to think we still have the trade period to navigate and then the Draft!
Hope he's got enough juice in the tank!
Back to trade period

Clark for future 2nd and 3rd? Hard no.

Long for Bowes and 7 ( with little sweetners if need be) hard yes.
DeGoey unlikely but yes.
Hill, can stay but if we got a future second and they take his salary, fine by me.

Anyone else? Would like a key defender, and some hardness around the mids ( Step up Lenny).
More support for Max, Billings to pull his finger out.
Major improvements from Windy, Owens, Clark, Coff (injured) Gres (injured) DMAC (injured), input from Hayes (injured), support for Sincs.
Not much I know, do that and we make finals.

7 take the best mid
9 take the best mid

Suns get: Long + 1.4mil cap relief
Saints get: 1.4mil cap burden + lose a list spot to an injury prone back flanker we don't need + Pick 7.....

Send that pick 7 over, Sunnies! Ya getting no picks in return.
Bowes will come good and be the new Bont/Dusty, hooking up with Windy and Owens and Cheezle we get with 7 and Humphrey B Bear with 9, and McKenzie dropping to 27.
We will need to increase Bowes salary to a mill a year in two years.

Gags will be hailed as a genius for turning Long into Bowes and Cheezle.

So which Geelong players missed the GF and are worth chasing?
  • Menegola: getting on a bit
  • Parfitt: would be great but guessing with Selwood most likely retiring he will be eyeing a midfield spot
  • Narkle: handy but didnt give much this year when he played
  • Ratugolea: Looked ok as a KPD and used to be handy as a Ruck/Fwd. Could be worth a look if cheap enough
  • Cooper Stephens: pretty raw, would be better off holding onto Bytel imo
