I think so - other than KPP+Murphy - and Mcreery doesn't really play a role that anyone you listed would really be in line for. Harrison and Ruscoe didn't play on the weekend - don't know what the story is with them.

I'd give Ginnivan more than two quiet games (as long as he's doing the right things in terms of positioning and running patterns) - even the very best forward pockets have their share of quiet games.

You've convinced me on giving Ginnivan another game or two. I hated the way Bucks would give some players one game in the forward line, and if they didn't perform he'd drop them and bring back his favourites. Totally unfair, especially considering the ball movement he encouraged which turned the forward line into a desert. I'm happy to say, the Bucks supporters (and I was on the fence for a long time) were wrong and it really was the coaching that was the problem the last few years. The kick-mark-slowplay-defence game is antiquated.

I don’t think you’re giving Nicks athleticism enough credit here tbh. He’s already faster and has a bigger tank than both the Browns imo.

It's hard to argue that Nick Daicos is quicker than Cal Brown. His burst pace and agility from a stoppage is his best asset. Give him the skills of the Daicos brothers and he would be the next Boomer Harvey. Too bad he has the game sense of Ben Sinclair and can't kick 35m.

Nick Daicos is like Pendles. Looks majestic running through the middle through space as if no one can touch him but it's due to his awareness and not pace.

High leaping forward Ash Johnson was particularly strong, kicking four goals (to go with three behinds) with 16 disposals, and nine marks. His partnership up forward with Mason Cox proved too much to handle for the Cats' backline, Cox contributing three goals in a ruck / forward role.

Once again, the midfield duo of Lachlan Tardrew and Callum Brown were outstanding. Tardrew (26 disposals) and Brown (27 disposals) were dominant throughout the contest combining for 14 clearances. Tardrew continued his strong start to the season, adding a goal, 11 marks and six tackles to his game. It was Brown's tackling that was most impressive as the game wore on, finishing the game with 11. Reaping the benefits of a consistent preseason, Brown's performances in the VFL have been really promising; putting himself in a great position to be called up to the senior side.

Small forward Sam Fowler slotted two goals to take his tally to six for the season. His pressure up forward along side Cooper Murley, Tom Wilson, Jacob Booth and Trent Bianco was crucial as the Pies were able to pile on the score board pressure with momentum during the second quarter. Booth kicked two goals for the game, while Wilson kicked an important goal early in the final term to put the game out of reach for the Cats.

The key defensive line up of Michael Hartley, Will Kelly and Liam McMahon combined well throughout the afternoon, preventing the Geelong forwards from getting a clean run at the ball. In his first game for the Pies in nine years, Hartley played an important role as a leader in the back line. His ability to read the flight of the ball and launch the Pies back into attack was a pivotal aspect to how the game played out.

Youngsters Fin Macrae, Caleb Poulter, Aiden Begg, Arlo Draper and Isaac Chugg continue to gain confidence in what was a really positive performance from the young Pies. Macrae looked comfortable in the midfield, putting together a 23 disposal game with nine clearances. His contested ball work as improved significantly over the off season, while plenty of time in the gym as also helped.

Poulter owns the Glasshouse side wing at the AIA Centre, his running and lengthy left boot have been promising in the early stages of the season. Every week Poults looks to be gaining in experience and confidence; look for him to make a real play for a spot in the senior side soon.

Collingwood 15.10.100 defeated Geelong 11.12.78

Goals: Johnson 4, Cox 3, Booth 2, Fowler 2, Murley, Tardrew, Wellings, Wilson

Best: Brown, Tardrew, Johnson, Macrae, Wilson, Poulter

Both are super agile with lightning feet, but agree that Cal probably gets the nod there. I think Nick Daicos may have a higher top speed and be a bit quicker in a straight line - that's the impression I get.

Cal might have him on the burst, but Nicks top speed is higher, and comfortably so. There’s a reason he was winning the repeat sprints at training this preseason.

The thing I like about Bianco is that he seems to have decent skills, which is where Callum Brown falls seriously short. I would be happy for Brown to get one more go as an inside mid, to help out out other inside mids who are getting beaten up. He could also play a shut down role I reckon. But one more chance and that's it for me.

The Daicos brothers ooze skill even if they're neither fast nor slow (like Sidebottom, say). And that makes them elite talents.

We’re told Bianco has decent skills, at AFL level his kicking has been shocking however and regularly is intercepted.

Um, not what I've noticed.
It's fair to say Kappa does mark our players pretty hard at the best of times, plus he's really had a 'difficult' start to the season, with Collingwood looking much better than most would have predicted, giving him very little 'ammunition'!!

28 clangers across 12 games, from someone who gets very little of the ball to actually "clang" in the first place...
He came on with a big reputation for his kicking and lived up to it in his first couple of games, but then couldn't hit a target for the rest of the games he played. Looks like a beautiful kick, but lost confidence when he fluffed a few.

Does Poulter look like getting a game ?

Not at the Moment. Wingman done nothing to get Dropped and Poulter done some nice things but but Quiet to get Picked.

I reckon he be back by 2nd Half of the Season Though

Poulter has been okay in the two's but he needs to improve his urgency and in game consistency. He can be kinda relaxed getting from contest to contest. There also needs to be a spot open up in the seniors.

Fair assessment then. Is if technique or confidence though?

Confidence and decision making. He is losing time through slow decision making which puts his kicks under more pressure and isn't taking (or perhaps seeing) the first good option.

It'll be about injuries for Poulter - this year, he's not going to go past those in the team he's competing with for a spot.

I think okay might be a bit strong. He’s been the player that’s been most disappointing 2022 to date IMHO. Hopefully it turns pretty quick.

Okay is accurate imo. Poulter was bog in the first half against Box Hill before dropping off. He was the 4th highest possession winner for us in the opening two games. He has contributed but lacked consistency in game.
