Yep..

this edwards lad, darcy wilson and use pick 20 (which will blow out a bit) as a hail mary all or nothing on Moir is the way I’d be moving. Moir can be the permanent small forward for the next two years to free up rank, rach and peds for mid time.. then Moir can try some mid time too.

we dont need a KPD (we have an awesome ability to identify, and get, those as sups or rookies and we’ll hopefully get Petty within the next two years too) and we dont need a draftee ruckman.

tell goad to ask for a trade back to adelaide in two years… after all, he won’t be getting one single AFL level game at the crows in the next two years if he comes to us anyway.
Feels a bit early on edwards for mine on evidence

I really like goad and his upside as a ruck long term at 207cm and still growing so hope he’s the main SA guy we have on our list

Big fan of Wilson and Leake as players

Curtin would be a bit of a dream , could easily be top 3 and is the one person in the draft that reminds me of Jordan Dawson

O’Sullivan is v good as a key position and could end up a forward or back , impressive young man

I've been dead against getting a kpd with our first unless they have elite traits, but I really like Curtin. Would be happy to grab him if possible. Wilson still top of my list at our current pick though.
Interestingly Curtin played one of the best midfield game of the champs against vic metro

His game against country playing defence mid and forward all to equal ability was also impressive

Trade our future first+pick 10 for 7. Bank on Welsh being a gun next year. Draft Curtin and Goad. Get on the potential goad hype train!!!! If we

I'd also like us to get Moir for the fun of it if he's there, even if he's a high chance of a bust. Want him to be the next Newchurch for us, someone we always want to see in the firsts because of their flashes of potential. At least itll be good to watch! Anyone one else we pick after pick 20 will be boring af and an inconsequential player anyway

Anyone but Leake to be honest.
Thank god you are not in charge of our list

If we do somehow manage to secure Curtin, our balance of left and right-sided players is getting exciting. I’m a massive fan of left footers playing down the left flank, they create different angles by having the ability to kick down the line or bring the ball inside.
We already have decent left footers in Worrell, Hinge, Dawson, Pedlar and co. Adding a Curtin to the back lines would give us a great balance, particularly across half-back.
Clarkson was always a big fan of left footers in his time at Hawthorn, probably why he is interested.

so you think he’s a midfielder at AFL level then?.. sounds like your confident on that.

and I noticed you never addressed the “crows draftee kpd’s spend two years in the sanfl“ elephant in the room I mentioned either.

and I swear I remember you frothing over mcasey with some of the same sort of language you are now using to talk up Curtin.

and you addressed nothing on the point I made about these lads being 198cm 90kg plus giants up against, and dominating, their peers that are mostly dweebs.. like mcasey did in his draft year.

we have ignored the midfield for far too long... but dont worry, hamish O and the lads know best.. just look at their record over the past 8-10 years..

if we’re chucking the farm all in on it to move up for a WA KPD, who has flight risk rumours circling him, when we desperately need midfield speed and class more than anything.. then..
That's Harley Reid or McKercher, who are too high for anything realistic (Curtin may not be realistic either).

Wilson ticks some boxes despite being a wingman so far. I like him, but if Curtin is a chance I'd be taking that route.

I’d love to play Curtin on wing in his first season
Interesting how we all feel we need quality midfielders where as the phantom drafts are allocating medium tall defenders.
because it’s not a midfielder draft

There are always midfielders. its just how we rate them and whether any good ones slide. but two of the 3 selections in the latest phantom draft were medium defenders and a ruckman. we do need talls though in development. Our tall stocks are terrible.

How hard do you reckon both freo and west coast (the latter who will have plenty of cap space over the next 5 years) will come for Curtin if he lands at Adelaide?..

and how longs the lad going to want to hang around adelaide if he‘s not getting a regular gig at AFL level.. which, if you look at our clubs record for treating young KPD’s, he wont.

who’s he replacing next year in defence?.. Burgess, keane, butts, borlase, and, after mid season, murray will all be prioritised. It s the adelaide way.

he’s a flight risk even if he doesnt say anything that points to him being one.
I think you are looking at him too one dimensional. He has midfielder vibes and could be dawson mk2 but taller

Fair go? Brad's a midfield sized player, Lairdy is friggen garden gnome, the midfield role is a bit easier for one of these players. Brad seems to be over his injuries in the last couple of seasons and I'd still have Lairdy ahead.
He definitely loss his explosive pace after his horrible hamstring injuries.

Your point?

Rach isnt a pure midfielder.

Pedlar isnt either but is closer to one than rach.. we’re all praying both can become something close to pure mids.. but thats yet to be seen.

and since when has the number 11 been between 1 and 10?.. we took TT with our best pick that year.
Rachele played midfield in his junior years but little in in his draft year, hence recruiter had him as a midfield/forward. If you look at Pedlar's highlight, you see him in the midfield......

Yeah, but what would Clarko know?

Compared to some of the posters here who reckon we shouldn't use a decent pick on a key defender?

Clarko aint special. When you look at curtins highlights you can see what a high end talent he is. and compared to o'sullivan it's a huge gap. It's why hamish is going so hard after gws's pick.
