"Greatest crow ever"

Those that play district cricket pretty much(Edwards/Prahran), same as Harry DeMattia and before them Matt Crouch was another.
I would think it will be an advantage...if he is already as good as he is without one, getting that full time fitness under the best of the lot in burgess can only enhance his game

Get the feeling if he can hit close to his potential, he will nail a running half back spot down and be quite dynamic

Yep. If he can rise quickly, maybe even get a taste this year, it really spells the end for Parnell and Hamill.

When a new crop of draftees come in, it's so easy to forget about other players, like Z.Taylor and Dowling. They should also be pushing for selection. Edwards looks a chance to jump them immediately though.

Not sure about dowling..he looked very impressive in the back half of last year and looks a real player. Taylor had that injury that wrecked him but i still have faith he can have a real crack at it when fit

I've still got hope for both of them. Players that will soon (or now!) need to come out of our side who were regulars, are Sloane, smith, Murphy, sholl (played 16 games last year). There's room

How many South Aussies taken?

One thing I noticed on some of the shirts, non AFL club shirts, draftees were wearing had AFL logos on them.

Some AFL money being pumped into QLD, NSW, Tassie and of course Victoria. Note the results.

But hey, it is probably better here in SA we pretend how great the SANFL is as an "independent " league and cheer on Norwood/Sturt/WWT/Glenelg win the Premiership each year.

Junior development in SA for the league all of us here follow the most is not as important as those SANFL Premierships?

Saw Ryan being shown around the Mall today by TT along with 2 others - maybe Edwards and ...IDK.

Ryan with his Jack Viney/Brayden Maynard looks was wasy to register, then realised the big dude was TT.

Just rubbish, the SANFL develop players, the SANFL and WAFL don’t receive the funding like the other states. That will hopefully change when they move to West Lakes and build high performance facility.

But given the SANFL is a league on its own, shouldn’t the clubs be striving to win flags? Why not?

Some of the SANFL hate is beyond stupid.
I don't particularly hate the SANFL.

It is a fine adult league.

But as a traditional football State we are falling behind. Purely because of the attitude of SANFL league Footy over developing AFL talent.

There is a model in Victoria working well we should emulate.

Would also make undrafted kids better quality for the SANFL.

And let's be honest, everyone here who posts regularly here is an AFL supporter over an SANFL club. We devote more time talking AFL, watching AFL games and financially support the AFL far more than SANFL clubs.

So why not support a better way to develop our kids to play at that level.
