Do you have a link to the article? I can't find anything on Google or the AFL website. Not doubting you, just trying to find the article you referenced.
From the article below:

"For instance, it would have allowed Adelaide to list one of Rory Sloane or Taylor Walker as a veteran for 2024 and opened up another spot on their primary list. The idea was designed to keep veterans in the game without sacrificing a list spot that a youngster may have taken, with the veteran’s full payments still counted in the salary cap."

There's a link in the post above

Will Kelly the only one I'd have any interest in? KPD swingman

  • Geelong – Mitch Hardie, Flynn Kroeger
  • Gold Coast – Sandy Brock, Sam Day, Oskar Faulkhead, Hewago Oae, Bodhi Uwland, Jeremy Sharp, Jake Stein, James Tsitas
  • Melbourne – Andy Moniz-Wakefield, Kye Turner

  • St Kilda – Tom Campbell, Tom Highmore, Dan McKenzie
  • Sydney – Sam Reid, Sam Wicks
  • West Coast – Zane Trew

There's that name again for GCS.Oskar Faulkhead. Would have to become a cult hero somewhere.

A few good players to rookie there. Could Orazio be a good rookie.

Don’t think anyone takes my fancy other than Dan McKenzie. I’d take Kreuger if we weren’t keeping Borlase

Can we upgrade Borlase after draft night? Which list he’s on might depend on how many picks we take IMO

If Krueger could get himself fit, may be worth a rookie spot

Would have to pick him up in the rookie draft - we don’t get first dibs on him.

I think we delist him, and make no promises about the rookie draft. We'll probably have one pick, and if he's best available, then sure. Otherwise ...

I think we’ll fill our rookie list this season (up to 6), particularly with the LTIs for Schoenberg and Murray.

So far we have Keane and Parnell, leaving 4 spots.

It's no wonder some kids fall off into bad place. Clubs have you hanging on for months after our last match hoping to be resigned or delisted. :disappointed:

Kinda makes it shitty that we kept Sloane, he had his time and he had a very long lucrative financially rewarding career with us.

We should have forced him to retire.

Faulkhead sounds like a Brooklynite saying ****head.

Sam Day? Cover until we get Petty or Ballard?
I wouldn't mind having a look at Highmore. His VFL form was pretty solid throughout the year.

I actually think Soldo is a handy acquisition, and will make their already excellent midfield even more potent. The rest though...

A defence in which either Ratugolea or BZT have to take the number one forward will never be elite.
Soldo is the one I understand the least, just an older version of Hayes. Good in ruck contest but gives 3/5ths of stuff all in between.

The success or not of their strategy will depend I think wether or not some of the younger guys they already have can kick on or not, like Visenti, Pasini, Sinn, Jackson, Burgoyne etc

I got the feel listening to Justin Reid Borlase's future was more or less contingent on the AFL allowing him another season on the NGA rookie list which has since been refused. Interesting to see what develops from the club the next couple of weeks in that regard.
Thought Reid mentioned they would find a way to keep Borlase, which j gather means de/re-listing another player.

Would be an interesting call as it means we come out of the trade period with Borlase, Murray (injured), Doedee (we liked to play him as kpd on occasion) gone and only Burgess coming in. Unless we plan on drafting a ready made kpd, it leaves our defensive stocks low. Would we entertain Himmelberg playing back?

I dunno about entertain it, it seems it's a plan according to both his manager David Trotter and Justin Reid in his recent interview
Ah I missed that interview. Wonder if Himmelberg appreciates a position change a year out from receiving a potential life line contract with GWS lol.

i am one that believes Port’s trade strategy will ultimately fail, not because they are Port but because it will ultimately fail.

Most teams strategies will fail, all of ours have for the last however many years

Just playing the odds, taking the field says their strategy will fail

Given how long they’ve been near the top, and that their real strategy is not to fall down the ladder because their support and financials aren’t robust, I’d probably argue that their strategy has already been successful

Please no..

himmelberg is far too lazy to be a KPD..

Would McCluggage and Hayward as free agents next year be too optimistic?

Welsh father son with points.
2025 first and 2024 first upgraded into Hargrave.

2025 offseason last real gap filler.
I just don’t know if Clug is realistic at all

Hayward and/or Cumming I can definitely see
