We carry too many soft, slow and unskilled footballers.
Some of our players have one of those traits, some of them have multiple.

We have periods in games where we get on top, dominate at the contest but can't put it on the scoreboard.
As soon as the opposition gets on top we allow multiple goals to be piled on.

Anyone having a go at Voss epitomises people who are the problem with this club.

The structures he had in place tonight gave us a chance to win. There was improvement to the pace we moved the ball which they clearly worked on during the week also.

16 behinds. Can't hit targets going inside 50. That was the issue.

Tonight was a 50/50 game. Should've been decided by less than a goal.

Our forward entries and system is close to the worst I’ve ever seen, that is why we kick scores like 6.16.

Scott made some changes and Voss stood there like a stunned mullet, had no idea what to do. His coaching record will soon be worse than Teague’s.

I agree, but the lack of effort compared to the first half suggests it was more than just Scott's changes.

8-16-1 in our last 25 games it's been longer than just this season the back half of 2022 was just as bad but covered up by the great start to the year.

The long bombs in hope are coaching, but they now have form on inaccuracy.

True but in the first quarter every shit was outside 50 because no one was inside 50. That is coaching.

So what happened during the half time break? We went from a committed team up to to half time to virtually missing in the first half of the 3rd quarter. Serious mental side issues.

We need to follow the Hawthorn example. Everyone said they were crazy to trade away Mitchell, O'Meara and Gunston and they'd struggle to avoid the spoon. But they've ripped off the band-aid, and are looking up, just a few short years since their three flags. At least we're now stripped of any illusions. Accept trades for anyone on our list over 25, and see if we can turn that into a couple of first-round picks to go alongside the pick 3 we seem destined for. Force PA's hand and make an offer to J.Carr as coach. Development year in 24 and target finals in 25

Tackles, sticking marks, having too many drawn into every single contest, holding the ball in tackles* and more are obviously key issues, but so many of our problems simply come from panicked kicks. Panicked kicks in defence, to no one, which land around the 50, panicked up and under kicks into our F50 from anywhere forward of centre, and then, as tonight, panicked snaps at goal where we're lucky for a score, any score, but just as often end up with nothing to show.


*pet peeve of mine - once again we have a game with instance after instance where a Carlton player, as good as fully wrapped up in a tackle, limply pops the ball out like they're slowly squeezing out toothpaste. At this point we've gotta play the percentages there and just hold the ball as though there's been no prior and set up for a stoppage (and if we are going to do that, please hold the ball...)

I don't agree with the strategy, but theoretically if we are rebuilding, we can pay the salary in order to get better/more picks.

Would be a huge call, and only one you would consider if the draft was spectacular

Ed was very solid on Merrett in the first half and then Voss failed to counter Brad Scott moving him into the forward half.

Changed the game

This here is the biggest concern I have.

Voss just fails to think 2 steps ahead. No coach is going to just let you blanket their star player without trying something different. This a large percentage of the time is to move them to the forward line. So where was the contingency plan for this coming into the game?

The Refs & players abilities to score had big parts to play with the result today, but Voss is still struggling to pull his head out his backside and react to the game as it happens. The Dow sub should have happened after the 3rd goal in the third quarter
