Little bit of a strange one, because I don't believe it myself. I know people will call bs on it, so let me be the first.

We are into Jack Lukosius.

The Power tried but apparently we have him stitched up.

He's contracted and apparently been playing well. We'd have to hugely overpay in a trade offer to even get GC considering letting him go.

Trying to make sense of it, maybe they have a FA locked in? Then a Lukosius/Redman (as a midfielder) combo for 'X' trade capital could be swallowed.
Very good player but not one to sell the farm for. RT will end up as good.

GC have highly rated Academy players this year, so assuming they don't want first rounders this year.

Could we trade the North and GC 2nds this year for a future 1st? Then send that and our future 1st for Lukosius. Two first round picks in the late teens.

If we could get Redman (as a midfielder) and Lukosius, for our future first and the GC and North 2nds this year, while still keeping our first this year. I could probably deal with that.

Then draft a mid with our first this year.

All a bIt of a waste of time, because surely it is not true.

Not asking you to name a source but how confident are you this person would know as it seems so unlikely

To get Luko given the contract you'd need to give up a pick and maybe players of potential. Maybe a Gollant? Himmelberg?
Or maybe an experienced player who would add to their young profile? Maybe a Keays given he's from Qld.
I'm not sure what their needs are, but assume a forward would be preferred.
Anyway given the length of contract I can't believe this to be true at all.

Why not both?

Might have been a circuitous way but we'd have our 2018 draft dream after all.

Assuming he goes FA in '26 and he tells GC he's coming home regardless, GC might be willing to trade him earlier in '25 and we'd have him right in our contending window.

Yep this as well

Can’t see GC doing us any favours after Rankine
They shouldn’t be too hard on us, we paid more than a fair price considering our leverage.
I get the taking of 2 good players though.

Makes it rather odd he only rather recently re signed long term

You are right, we would have to get really creative as we need a mid be it trade or draft with our 1st this year..after than if it cost us our 2nds and f1 in some sort of a deal then ok...luko looked the goods last night and boy would we have loaded up on our front half if we made it happen

People's view on what he is worth would wildly vary I would say. Then add in what is he worth contracted like he is.

Starting to look like the player he was drafted to be. No more of this taking kick outs and getting that metres gained rubbish. Starting to stand up as a key forward

If Doedee is leaving potentially that might provide some draft/ trade capital. As much as this board is irritated by him, he'd be worth some value, touted as potential captaincy material etc etc.

Three way exchange, Doedee to vic, someone from Vic club to GC, Luko to us, swaps of picks to even it up??

He signed a long term contract. Makes this highly unlikely.

Wouldnt be the first time a player that has just re-signed onto a 3-4 year deal turns around 6-10 months later and wants a trade.

mcgovern and gibbs are two that immediately come to mind..
Not suggesting it hasn't happened just that it's usually highly unlikely.
It would be a surprise because obviously Adelaide should be looking at it's midfield.

But perhaps we told Jack in 2022 we couldn't do it last year because of Izak and he did want to come.
