Dow to Saints is a done deal- Max the King (3 weeks ago)Dow to saints will get done pretty quickly- cal twomey
Aussie Jones’ goal in that GF is a thing of beauty. Carries the ball 120 metres then slots it from 50 on his non dominant foot. players can’t do that these days.Having Lockett might have helped us win it. Not sure that it was getting Smith and Jones that made us a premiership favourite side.
Parfitt is a very ordinary footballer. If Brandan Parfittis available, rather him over Dow & Jordan. A 3rd rounder pick for him.PLAYERCARDSTART3Brandan Parfitt

The club need to offer him a fair deal to entice him to stay. If we lose him for nothing and he fills his potential the club has yet again let us fans down. The Coffield situation definitely reminds me a lot of the Joel Smith trade back in the 90s.
If he leaves he will go on to have a very good career somewhere, we will get bugger all for him and watch in sadness
Rather keep Gresham. He will win finals for us one of these days.Out of interest, if we had to keep one would people rather Gresh or JB?
Would you take a future first from Sydney for Doogie and steak knives? I probably would considering it's a midfielder-heavy draft next year. Don't see Sydney's 2024 draft position being worse than this one, potentially could be a lot better. Not sure if they have the cap space after getting Grundy
Want Jean-Luc Velissaris just for his name. Sounds like an interplanetary composer from the year 3589. Get him now SOS and future-fit the Saints marketing dept.Coff played the last couple of game of the year for Sandy and was pretty decent, was good to see him out there and didn't look hampered. Hopefully we wants to stay because with a full preseason under his belt I can see him slotting back nicely.
A mate of mine thinks Jean-Luc Velissaris should be someone clubs could look at as he was huge for the Bullants in a team that got smash all year. Anyone know much about him?
Dude, you... you don't even know your own user name?Dow to Saints is a done deal- Max the King (3 weeks ago)
Best post I've seen here all year was the poster who suggested Parfitt was the sound of a shartParfitt is a very ordinary footballer.
It’ll be real soon enoughImagine keeping Jones and letting Coff go
OH BOY.
He definitely won't be a 2nd rounderI always remember this about Dow.

Carlton champion Greg Williams delivers some blunt advice for 2018 AFL Draft No.3 pick Paddy Dow who was dumped from the Blues' line-up to tackle Sydney, just two games after returning from a long-running knee injury.
"I thought just watching him, he's just not desperate enough, not going hard enough and I'm pretty blunt, but I think you get what you deserve." Williams, who has recently coached Dow on a personal level, told SEN.
"Teaguey's (coach David Teague) obviously made it hard for him to get a game which is a good thing because he got a lot of games early, just straight in because he was a low pick."
------ At 24 you would expect him to start to show his best now , a lot of these kids are just not ready for the pressure in there early years and they need to mature mentally and physical before stepping up.
I have not watched Dow play but if he is showing the desperation that Williams said he lacked he might of turned the corner.
But at best he is a late 2nd round pick or early 3rd. (38 to 45 best guess)
Possibly the best GF goal everAussie Jones’ goal in that GF is a thing of beauty. Carries the ball 120 metres then slots it from 50 on his non dominant foot. players can’t do that these days.
Loved Aussie.
Extremely unlikely. McStay/Mihocek or Riccardi/Hogan don’t really demand an extra key back even if Payne is gone (which is not assured)
I expect Payne to play but he's been in a moon boot all week, so a little niggle for Darcy Gardiner then its "come on down" Darragh!!!!How is that a real chance?

Been saying this for agesIt seems that many comments on here are looking for Saints action in both trading players and drafting in new talent. Understandably everyone is in favour of better draft picks and bringing in high talent players from other clubs.
The main sticking point from BF posters seems to be a fear of risk. Yes we want the club to improve our draft picks and recruiting of players, but are afraid of the risk. Seems many are in favour of the principle, but afraid of the reality, of trading Coffield, Clark, Howard, in case they turn out to have great careers elsewhere.
Without risk there is no reward. Yes mistakes may be made, but if we go for safe, go for the known, we will be here in the same spot not improving, or winning that elusive flag.
This is the time to take risks and jettison those who the club doesn't see will get us there, for those who they see will. I am up to moving virtually anyone on, if the risk / reward greatly favours us. It's time to be brave.

I think you should take it easy on the poor old big footy posters. It seems that many comments on here are looking for Saints action in both trading players and drafting in new talent. Understandably everyone is in favour of better draft picks and bringing in high talent players from other clubs.

Maybe Lyon doesn't rate Coff? He wasn't at the club when Coff was recruited. I guess we'll know when the 2024 preseason comes around.
