Fitness will take ages as he first needs to acknowledge it then work out how to train it then actually do itDon't think fitness will take that long. But he'll be 21 in 3 years right? So lots of time to get better.
2-3 years min I reckon

Won't get 3 years if he doesn't work hard on his endurance if we take him in the rookie draft only guaranteed 1 year and 2 if we take him with pick 64 which seems to be the plan by the look.Fitness will take ages as he first needs to acknowledge it then work out how to train it then actually do it

Still, 5 goals and 2 goal assists at SANFL League is pretty good going for an 18yo.i watched about a 3rd of the first one and it was tough going. No wonder he's slipped so far, he's awful.
Easy, ban anyone that uses tapatalkThis is an issue with Tapatalk and iOS 18. It has been reported but we've not yet been informed of a fix.
Love jagga but I do wonder if the club thinks we already have similar players in Soligo and TaylorIf Draper is gone and Langford or Smith are there on the board, whom would you be taking?
Stiffy Johncock disagreesStill might turn into the best pick in the 50s we've ever had.
Not sure sorry, I know you are very keen on Smith. But I’m going to assume he’s off the board by 4.C4[2]Yo`DooR
The age had us picking Langford over Draper and smith, anything you’ve heard that would validate or go against this?
Any noise on Richmond picking Smith at pick 1?Not sure sorry, I know you are very keen on Smith. But I’m going to assume he’s off the board by 4.
The first (traditional) three picks I think are a combination of Smith/Lalor/FOSAny noise on Richmond picking Smith at pick 1?
Would hope we take Draper in that scenario. The first (traditional) three picks I think are a combination of Smith/Lalor/FOS
Leaves the Crows with a decision between Langford/Draper etc
Would hope we take Draper in that scenario.
If someone else picks Draper, then likely Smith falls to us.
Very happy with either.
Pick 67.Stiffy Johncock disagrees
Appreciate your intel as always. Not sure sorry, I know you are very keen on Smith. But I’m going to assume he’s off the board by 4.
I’m not really of the opinion that another ‘big bodied’ mid would be one too many, especially given the potential positional versatility of Curtin (and the already known versatility of skip)Do we need another big bodied midfielder when we already have the skipper, Curtin and Edwards. Just don’t see the need. Don’t see Langford’s speed or evasiveness as an asset either. Won’t be silky skilled in the AFL if he doesn’t have quick feet and/or speed.
If Smith or Draper get through to pick 4 we would be mad not to pick either of them. I’m hoping Smith is there at pick 4. He just ticks all the boxes.
Keep in mind you could also argue do we need another small midfielder given Soligo is a lock and Taylor could potentially be a starting midfielder in the future.Do we need another big bodied midfielder when we already have the skipper, Curtin and Edwards. Normally I'd agree ....but in such an even top 10-12 players, Clubs will look to their needsKeep in mind you could also argue do we need another small midfielder given Soligo is a lock and Taylor could potentially be a starting midfielder in the future.
Personally I’d rather we not overthink our list composition too much when it comes to our future midfield. Just take whoever you think will be the best player regardless of size. A surplus can quickly become a deficit and vice versa.
What’s the point thoughIf O'Brien can be dropped for a 28 year old that isn't fit enough to run out a game there's no reason Welsh can't play in his first season
Rankine and Peatling are both in the top 5% in comp for mid speedNormally I'd agree ....but in such an even top 10-12 players, Clubs will look to their needs
This Board has lamented our lack of pace in the midfield for so long, it seems ridiculous to now ignore that need now, when an opportunity presents itself to fix the problem
Our big bodied mids are now covered .....I'd argue they're not an absolute necessity now, with more clubs emphasising speed with ball-ups reducing year-on-year
Soligo is not quick ....Taylor is not quick .....only Rankine would surpass Draper (insert Smith and FOS where required)
IMO you have to look past the starting CBA Mids ....and have the next mid-rotations of equal capabilities to ensure continuity of class & pressure
They’ll give him time if he’s progressing with itWon't get 3 years if he doesn't work hard on his endurance if we take him in the rookie draft only guaranteed 1 year and 2 if we take him with pick 64 which seems to be the plan by the look.
