On a side note, there is a massive part of me that wanted to not match as I already selected Mraz. If he does not make it to the Saints next pick, I will say who I would have picked here if I did not match.
Fair enough, would you want Lennox Hofmann then? Who I will also bid on.

Sweet. Pies second pick is Luke Urquhart (East Fremantle/Western Australia)

I contemplated going a tall here but having already picked up Shanahan, along with the fact that I'm currently disenfranchised with our midfield's effort, I've leant towards one of WA's most consistent players over the champs. Yeah his kicking definitely has to improve, but he has traits to work with, and if you back your development to do that, might as well. We've seen poor kicks overcome their deficiencies at AFL level so will back them in to do that.

Fremantle selects Tom Gross (Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro)

Goalkicking midfielder who has been able to play a variety of roles this season. To me a point of difference at this stage and value all things considered.

Happy with the haul.

TDS7 is up next with the Giants
Terrific pick. One of my favourites in this draft and can't understand why he is not higher

Potentially Chad Warner 2.0, he had some similar deficiencies in his draft year.

This is who I wanted.

Nah all good I knew he the type you were after but considering your hand and the two who I had next up (one of which I knew you’d get) it seemed silly not to go for a best available especially when a tall in a mid-heavy draft.
Speed and skill are what we are after, Travaglia and Lindsay are probably top of our list, with Travaglia already gone I think we take Lindsay at that point. We also haven’t taken a Vic M player in the first round since Cerra left. Vic C we are happy to take.

WB - Patrick Retschko - 189cm - DEF/MID

Has the build and athleticism to play on guys bigger than him but also the smalls. Good overhead and hard nosed attack at the contest he can run all day and provides good outlets from defence. He will need to work on his disposal but his all game work rate is highly valued and through this he can rack up big numbers for a defender, winger who can go inside as a big bodied mid.

Next up ModernArtillery for Melbourne

Trainor could be Matthew Scarlett and it would be "anyone but Trainor"

You know how it is with BF, give me list needs or give me nothing, though I get the fun of these is comparing rankings as much as anything.
I wouldn't worry too much. Collingwood have Carlton, Sydney and Brisbane on the way home, so that pick will likely be a bit higher than pick 9. It's currently 6, which puts them in the Laylor/Langford territory. Either would be great for Freo.

Pick 53 - Melbourne
Charlie Nicholls
Central District

It's hard to know how much better Nicholls could have been at the Champs had he been playing in a better side. He's genuine key position size at about 197cm, a capable athlete who looks comfortable pushing up the ground. He's competitive in the air and should only improve as he adds size to his frame. He needs to improve his kicking in front of goal where his ball drop leads to a lot of inconsistency. In another draft where there wasn't as many KPF options, Nicholls might find himself in discussions at a much higher pick than he is here.
