Adrian Caruso Giants list Manager - 2-3 players are getting pretty clear for pick 1.

Name drops FOS & Sam Lalor

Says people talk about the top 7-8 players but the next group of 7-8 there would be players there who are in the giants top 5.
So Caruso would probably have Berry, Hotton, Kako, Moraes, Dattoli in his top 5, and then his next few would be <insert other small forwards>.

Am I right? 😅

Somone get on the phone to get Bassat to Sam Lalor’s house with the Westinghouse Suite of appliances, a fully loaded investment account with CMC and a Ribbon Wrapped Chery. We can’t afford this kid to go at Pick 1-3

ST KILDA

Current draft hand:
7, 24, 43
List need: Midfield speed

The Saints' draft position will be predicated on the compensation for outgoing free agent Josh Battle and the pursuit of Dan Houston. Pick 8 is a possibility, giving them the opportunity to add two elite midfield talents. One of those picks should be used on a big body, with Sam Lalor, Josh Smillie or Harvey Langford in that range. Classy mid-forward Murphy Reid and intercept king Luke Trainor are local Dragons products who add polish, but Ross Lyon would adore the running power, ball use and leadership of Gippsland midfielder Xavier Lindsay who is steadily rising up draft boards. If one of Jagga Smith, Finn O'Sullivan or Sid Draper slip through to the Saints they're primed to pounce. Defensive pair Adrian Cole and Lennox Hofmann are set to land at Moorabbin on night two via the Saints' NGA.

New idea, Does F/S apply to legal guardians? Get Lenny to become his legal guardian. Does he have any multicultural heritage? Late registration to the NGA program

The versatile left-footer has high appeal through simply being very good at a lot of things. He can play as a midfielder or half-back, he can change the game with his angled and precise kicking, he has speed and agility and since overcoming some injury at the start of the year he plays well most weeks. After being an All-Australian at under-18 level following a great finish to the championships with Vic Country, when he picked up 30 disposals, Lindsay has averaged 28 disposals with Gippsland and also hit the scoreboard, kicking 2.4 in those three games.

Welcome to the Saints Xavier!

Maybe with a couple of NGA backs. Wonder if any like for like Battle, albeit brand new?

He’s a ripper. We probably need a couple of genuine in or in/out mids, as he’ll likely be more a wing. But will be a v good get for someone.

Not having a go at anyone, but I find it interesting how definitive some people can be about an 18.y.o kid and their future prospects.
Can imagine in Cam Wilkie's year. ' Very vanilla, too small, pass'
Rohan Marshall, 'too slow for forwards, terrible ruck, won't develop, maybe a VFL player'.
Players have weaknesses, they get into the AFL system, they get exposed and then worked on. It is soon apparent what they are and first preseason will show what is required.

They're the exceptions, not the norms.

The Rookie Me Central Coates League Team of the Year -

There is plenty of talent there I would like about 10 of them on the Saints list next year...

He should have added all things being equal, who’s picking a battler because he’s super competitive.

Exactly. Drive over natural talent but if you're picking between Judd and Geary you're not going with Geary.

There are always a few that didn't have the maturity to get drafted that develop late but definitely the exception not the norm. Most players have been on the radar for years before the draft.

I really don't rate him that high. I think he ends up more forward than mid or Jake Stringer like. He's got a high ceiling but like Smilie, I think he has huge bust potential too.
