We have killed this draft on a pure talent basis.

We have genuinely gone full upside on each pick.

Wow. I’m so very impressed.
If we can put aside our understandable mids fetish for a moment every pick seems to be a quality pick up with significant upside. Time for everyone to cool their jets and embrace some serious new talent

I didn't watch many games, but from what I did see, I didn't see much in Hoffman. Was pretty surprised to hear talk of a bid coming in the 30s.

Wouldn't lose much sleep about missing Cole and Hoff. Would rather Cole if we can only grab one.
Well we’re into the mid 60’s and no bids on any of them, I guess that’s how other clubs rate them. I like to see academy kids on the list but it’s tough getting on an afl list nobody gives spots away.

As the dust settles, I think we should all agree we have had a fantastic draft. Added quality across all lines, all in keeping with our game style and with huge upside.

To those who have embarrassed themselves with wild emotional swings, unfounded statements and knee-jerk reactions, use this time to look inward and work on yourselves x
Deeply grateful for the advice. 🙏 Am doing some journaling right now.

Surely the NGA boys get to the rookie draft and we pick up one or two? Maybe the ones that don’t get selected train on during the summer?

Geez the under 23 team must be looking pretty insane right now?

Do Academy kids not bid on automatically become Rookies?

Yep.

Rekon that's what will happen, then Peckett gets his chance during preseason for Crouch's spot.

If he doesn't impress then off to Sandy with him and we reassess mid season.

The flexibility...

Hammer can swing back.
Tauru & Barrat forward.
Heath deep forward with Dodson rucking.
Dodson roving to Heath.
Keeler up the ground.
Mid rotations everywhere.

Jeez... Don't **** this up Saints!

Do we have some secret Calder Cannons scout? Thats where Hugo Garcia came from right

Played Ruperstwood in 2018 for 2 matches: 4 goals and 2 goals for U13, then shifted to the Lions (as we've better pathways), Macedon, Keilor and went EDFL route to Cannons for the call up. Got state rep for under 16's, essentially "this region", we look after each other and if you have the desire to go the pathways then we generally make it happen to the best of abilities.

RE Garcia, he was more "central" in came up through Taylors lakes/Watergardens then went south, as opposed to Said who went West, he went more the Isaac Smith route for eg.

Didn't hear about any specific scouts on this one though, as again he was only a junior here.
