Daniel - LOL - surely you're joking.Caleb Daniel showing he’d be a handy upgrade on a few players on our list
One is a really really good kick, the other isn’tLittle difference between him and Laird. Zero interest from me
No current season stats available
more stat paddingThought it was bizarre when I saw him pick up the ball and thought straight away NO
I really don't get the obsession with Luko and Philippou. Two really overrated, soft footballers.
Daniel is an upgrade on laird easily... I would trade them given the events of the last weekLittle difference between him and Laird. Zero interest from me
Reckon Hawthorn knew the right ones to move on, too
Low impact guys like JOM and Mitchell were the right ones to move, so they could prioritise Day, Newk etc. That’s what we should do now with Laird, but won’t
I don't think any other club wanted any of those players, not since Nicks took over. This was another area our list management was appalling.
We kept Sloane, Laird, Crouch and Keays - all similar midfielders. Should have traded out two of them whilst we were cutting deep
And of course our rookie coach kept played them all in the midfield for years, stifling our midfield development.
Which is why our two best mids have been traded in and not developed by Nicks in his 5 years.
I think we had a promising young half forward who could have easily replaced Murphy this week. You mean not letting the BF Cartel get their hands on shiny new toys, before the toys are ready to be played with?
Putting games into duds - Murphy being the prime (and almost only) example - can be justified on the basis of a lack of alternatives. We simply don't have anyone with whom to replace him. I really wish we did, but the fact is that we don't. This is why the recruitment of ANB is so important (infinitely more important than Luko).
This is excellent. Couple of things though.
Then the coach needs to have the courage to drop him increasingly. We can't trade him, because he wouldn't have any takers and wouldn't agree to be traded anyway. Trading requires the agreement of 3 parties - the losing team, the gaining team, and the player - and all 3 need to agree to the trade. As of 2025, there's only 1 of the 3 parties with any interest in making a trade happen.
We can't pay out his contract and delist him, given that he has 2 years left on a fairly hefty salary.
We're stuck with him for at least another year, at which point the best we can do is talk him into retiring.
I don't disagree... but that doesn't solve the problem of him being contracted for the next 2 years. Then the coach needs to have the courage to drop him increasingly.
Barely best 22 for the past few months.
Who? Pedlar? He's on the injury list, after having surgery on his shoulder.I think we had a promising young half forward who could have easily replaced Murphy this week.
If I'm not mistaken, I think he is referencing the Rachele situationWho? Pedlar? He's on the injury list, after having surgery on his shoulder.

We used him as sub two games in a row prior to the Sydney gameAdd Taylor too to the list of class players we should have got more games into.
That's the problem with our club. We have too many intelligent types.I made a graph of Crows fans' feelings towards the overall direction of the club:
View attachment 2092004
I recall a post by bigman pre season and I highlighted it as a watch as he said something like “Laird had been on the angry pills”, then again the next week same and was not getting midfield rotations . And a couple of player interviews with our younger players said how angry he was in a joking way. On that observation I had Laird noted as losing his position during the year, thing is he has gone toxic about it imo.He clearly looks like he’s lost passion for the game and he’s adding nothing in leadership for our young guys
He could have a mini renaissance at another club as a role player for 2 years for sure , he should try instigate it if the club doesn’t
