Didn’t Webster have a broken nose? Low impact?
I think it’s been said before but this has been engineered in a way to give him the wiggle room to get the charge downgraded to a fine.

It’s classic AFL doctoring. They have probably sent Sydney the script to follow to make the circus seem believable.

Not that I really care. Let’s play them with him in there. Might be a really good learning experience for someone like Archer to man him when he goes forward.

AFL is so rigged.
Intentional conduct?…,,,
They’ll argue it was careless, and it was. Webster lowered his body, causing strike to his face. Meaning Heeney will probably get off.
Low impact?….,, Webster had a smashed nose with blood streaming out and the trainer straight onto him. Had to be medium impact.
Contact was high. The only one they got correct

Swans could use one of their old get out of jail clauses. Remember the Barry Hall wasn’t part of the play bullshit they used to allow him to play in the Grand Final, ironically against the Saints too. I hope they come up with a new one just for laughs.

Probably couldn’t argue it down to a fine if the AFL go with medium force?

It’s an engineered charge with the sole intention of him taking it to the tribunal and getting it downgraded to a fine.

The system is a sham that grades the charges in a way to get them what they want.

They’d need to have argued both intent and force.

This way they only have to argue about intent.

In the video we can see that Webster was bent over forwards with his head down low so the MRO determines that as low impact.

The Swans just need to come up with something, anything and the AFL will work with them to get the desired result .
They don’t have to come up with anything.

The pathway handed to them is having it down graded from intentional to careless.

Which they will.

Which makes the reworded rule not worth the lawyers fees to reword it.

The weasel words give them the perfect out.

Laughable.

Agree. The wording has the "usually" clause which is a complete nonsense. The swans just have to argue that this is an unusual case as the Webster left his head at the usual waist level, so the contact, althought high, would "usually" be at the body.

You can’t whack someone in the face especially off the ball and draw blood it’s that simple

Otherwise let’s start whacking swans players in the face this week and hope the kids at Auskick do the same
You can drop F bombs in press conferences but not on the ground.

The whole league is one giant hypocrisy.
