You can only imagine how poor DGB is if Durdin is still a chance. The club needs to have a conversation with Sam Durdin and somehow retract the train on offer
??? Time is going to make some people look pretty silly
Well, the Tigers have him in the mix for pick 1. Kangaroo are likely to take him at 2, and we would take him at 3 if he was still there.Am I the only one who isn't enthused by the prospect of O'Sullivan? He just doesn't really seem to have any x-factor IMO.
Feel like the upside with Smith and Draper is far higher.
Admittedly have only seen some basic highlights so could very well be getting this wrong... What am I missing here?
Go watch the Eastern Rangers v Oakleigh Coats game during the year. FOS played midfield the entire game. Less game time overall than Jagga but compare the pair.Go watch the highlights of him taking huge overhead marks & slotting every type of goal u would like to see.
FOS is likely to make any debate about what pick to take him seem silly in a few years.
Yes and slippery. Is Smith quick? Worried our midfield is going to continue to be slow.

The dominator to present 7 to Draper or smithWonder who will present the jumper to who we select on draft night
Of the 4 considerations for our Pick 3 i am secretly hoping it will be in order:
1. Lalor
2. Draper
3. FOS/Smith
I think Lalor is a level above as a prospect.
Draper as the second best overall and best for us in short and long term.
FOS as the dual position with huge upside.
Smith will help equally as Draper in short term and longterm. I just rate him a touch less offensive and a bit more defensive than Draper.
I respect Cal's track record though, and it seems as though Lalor is gone. It seems like we will take FOS if he is there. If he's not it looks like Jagga. With Sid still a chance though.
Money would have to be with Jagga now though.
Go Jagga you beauty.
Correct take. Jagga is the best / quickest I’ve seen at pouncing on a loose ball at a contest. We have zero dynamism around the contest, particularly if the ball doesn’t bounce our way. I think people have been overstating the burst forward from stoppage argument. Jagga can do that but he can do so much more as well.Assuming we end up with Smith, I think he plays from round 1. He is not explosive, but has elite evasiveness. In the draftpool, against his peers, Ive heard it explained he would win the ball from stoppage 60 times out of 100. He is that good! So while he has some knocks on his game, I think he can push Walsh out and have him play off the backline again, storming through the middle like he did in 2023. Walsh on the outside is when he is at his best. That is my thinking for addressing "speed"... get Jagga to get it to Cerra and Walsh bursting on the outside
Wonder who will present the jumper to who we select on draft night
I haven't changed my view on the players in our target range.
1. Langford, strong and lateral movement. Hardly ever gets caught with the ball. Can take a contested mark, his left foot is an absolute weapon. Will have the capacity to play HB and HF. I am not worried about his 20m speed testing.
2. FOS, similar skillset to Langford with a bit more straight line speed, does not have the same level of football IQ or willingness to work of the ball as Langford.
3. Jagga, very agile, will be a great high possession link up player. High IQ and work rate. Kicking lacks penetration, often kicks of the inside of his foot. Just not sold as a top 3 player. I have him at ranked 5-6.
4. Sid, great highlights reel, love his burst of pace and mix of outside/ inside. With the excess pace you sacrifice efficiency. So whilst he is a POD and gives us additional speed, we do not get kicking efficiency POD that we need. I am also concerned about his durability. I have him ranked 7-8.
ITKs suggesting its Jagga.FOS is our no.1 still, as mentioned a lot earlier in the thread, doesn't look like he makes it to 3.
Who are u hearing is next in line bic?FOS is our no.1 still, as mentioned a lot earlier in the thread, doesn't look like he makes it to 3.
Is Smith quick? Worried our midfield is going to continue to be slow.
He's quick. Not super fast but quicker then all our current mids except probably Walsh. Is Smith quick? Worried our midfield is going to continue to be slow.
FOS looks great when you put all his highlights together but when you actually watch his games, he has as many head scratching moment as great ones. Might be the injuries. Might not.Go watch the highlights of him taking huge overhead marks & slotting every type of goal u would like to see.
