Unless he's an employee with a contract which prohibits it, he's a self employed contractor who will have such terms within his contract. Or not.
It's similar to an ABC person who writes a book. Many have so I don't see the difference.

The difference is a book doesn't involve your face and voice appearing regularly on commercial TV stations.
