Is Curtly Peatling going to get a midfield spot ahead of Dawson, Rankine, Rachele, Soligo, Crouch?

Do you want Peatling getting minutes ahead of younger midfield options in Taylor, Dowling and Edwards (plus pick 4)?

Are we now writing off the idea of Curtin being a midfielder?

Are Berry and Pedlar for the scrap heap now?
Berry isn't any good.
Pedlar is a half forward who mostly played SANFL this year.
Curtin I think starts as a wing/half forward.

Taylor is probably the one at risk of losing midfield time, especially if the bozos in the coaches box put Laird back in the mids.

We havent had good quality midfield depth in ages.

Its what guys like Pedlar, Taylor, Berry etc are. Edwards i expect to make a giant leap next year too.

If Dawson/Rankine/Soligo/Peatling/Crouch is our midfield rotation next year, I’ll be happy

Even better if say, a Taylor or Dowling pushes to overtake Crouch
I'm happy if they can squeeze Dawson out to the wing. Massive upgrade on Sholl and allows Daws to follow the play with an attacking outlook rather than needing to defend an oppo mid fielder.

Laird should never be seen in a mid rotation again

I don’t recall him always being that way, but he did have a couple of ordinary games towards the end of the season, probably as far back as my memory will allow these days
He's always been pretty fumbly, and his kicking isnt great either. Absolutely busts his gut every week which is great but if we can get someone in with more polish... why not ??

If our wings next year are a Dawson and Cummings then we are already a much better side than last season.

Cleanliness is definitely an area Berry is struggling with right now.

Can't worry about other players missing games when it comes to recruiting for a stronger list. Hopefully those players lift to the challenge of greater competition for spots.

That the same Champion Data that ranked four Sydney players in the top 6 on the ground for the Grand Final?

That's some blatant cherry picking, especially factoring that those four are the only representation Sydney had in the top 14 on ground by champion data rating. Which does reflect the whole being belted by 10 goals result that occurred. Equally, Sydney having 9 of the worst 10 players on the ground.

It's a team game after all.

IMO Sloane has never been quick, he's been a burst player .....I just think we should have moved him out of the midfield much sooner, and it would have provided more longevity .....Sloane would have been great in that small defender role, Bond undertook last year

A similar scenario is facing Laird .... a small man who has lost his #1 wood
Hopefully Laird drops 3-4 kgs, he said he put on at the start of 2024 .....I don't think it helped him
Did you hear Bricks response when asked about the future of B.Smith, he said he should play on as he offers something no one else can... an elite leg.
He also said he caught up with Brodie for coffee & he was excited about his year ahead at the club.

28 year old hbf? Nah
CARL are knocking on the door .....they need his skills off HB

A pair of picks #13's is fair price for an All Australian .....and one of the best decision makers. kicks in the AFL
