CARL are knocking on the door .....they need his skills off HB

A pair of picks #13's is fair price for an All Australian .....and one of the best decision makers. kicks in the AFL
IMO Carlton are misguided selling the farm for Houston. That may be his value, but Carlton need an intercepting defender and some flair in their midfield and forward line.

Did you hear Bricks response when asked about the future of B.Smith, he said he should play on as he offers something no one else can... an elite leg.
He also said he caught up with Brodie for coffee & he was excited about his year ahead at the club.
I take zero notice of Bickley, assume he's the reference ......Smith has a raking kick, but it's never been elite, particularly short distances .....much better over 40-50 mtrs, but now he's hooking even more

Honestly, Smith looks shot ....both physically and mentally ....IMO that hunger for AFL is gone, and he's playing for money

Agree... healthy we are bolstering the football department for next season by bringing in people from successful clubs.

I know little about Davis, but no reason to be critical unless you have inside knowledge of his abilities.

We need someone like Montgomery too for the coaching group

Then a strong football person like Wright or Balme at a higher level.
Balme was keen on a part time role until recently heart attack

Retiring down the coast of SA , I guess it’s possible he does some occasional consulting

Smith looks incredibly cooked

Why you shocked WaynesWorld19? Nicks got him to his trigger and then dropped him. You’ve never once commented about this, why?

Who got him to his trigger Wayne and then dropped him?

I've loved Caleb Daniel over his career .....but a small man who loses even a little pace, is becoming a liability .....and that second less he has to dispose of the ball now, is impacting his DE

Note Mr Laird !

Davis has a well-rounded coaching journey, having mentored the Lions’ forward line for the past two seasons and prior to that their defenders for a decade. He has also worked in Brisbane’s development team and coached in his own right, which included leading the NT Thunder to a NEAFL premiership in 2011.

Davis will work closely with all of Adelaide’s coaches but in particular assistants Scott Burns (forwards), Nathan van Berlo (midfield) and Jack Hombsch (defence).

Crows Executive General Manager Football Adam Kelly said the role of Senior Coach is increasingly demanding and the Club wanted to provide Matthew Nicks with the best possible structure and support in 2025.

“Over the past couple of months, we have been evaluating and exploring ways in which we can finetune our coaching structure and been searching for someone to complement the strengths of Matthew and his assistants,” Kelly said.

"In other changes, Michael Godden will have a greater emphasis on player and coach development, and Matthew Wright becomes SANFL Senior Coach while continuing to work with the Club’s emerging forwards."

It sounds like we were not able to hire someone into the role of the (still departing?) Marco Bello

They have leverage if he nominates them. Same as Port do with Lukoscius.
Port certainly have more leveridge with Lukosius .....GC want the $1M annual contract off the books, and they will not extend to amortise that commitment

Houston can nominate .....as Oliver can with GEEL .....but if the buyer has no Draft Capital, and are facing long contracts ....both deals don't get one
