I would add
1. I agree he has gotten better
2. Its time to groom his successor
3. 10 years becomes 15 too quickly
Generally agree about outstaying your welcome but couldn’t you easily argue BOTH Reid AND Hamish have had their best 4 years at the club in the last 4 years? They have got materially better - not the opposite.

Port given approval to trade future first

How?

They haven't made a draft selection since 2021.

They traded their 2022, 2023, 2024 picks and now the AFL gives them the green light to trade 2025.

Then at some point the AFL will randomly knock back a club from trading because "You haven't made 2 first round selections in 4 years".

It's laughable at this point how the AFL flip flops constantly on the rules, no doubt with GC being an AFL owned and operated club it's in their best interests to allow Port to trade their first for Luko, even if it goes against the rules, so they will allow it.

You can bet London to a brick that that if we were in Port's position and wanting to give Freo or WCE a 1st rounder in a trade that the AFL would be all over it and be telling us that we're breaking the trading rules would refuse to rubber stamp the trade.

We missed our targets

I think he’s good at part of the job and will likely get shifted out to another role when we get another guy in , but he’s under qualified
I still dont know where Davis fits. The website hasnt been updated.

If he is below Nicks then why is Burns still a coach

If he is above Nicks why is Kelly still in a role

Taken a while

But I still stand by we need to be grooming a person for both positions or networking for someone

Hopefully the interest from Collingwood advances this process - even if Reid stays

Silver said he is under Nicks. Basically oversees the assistant coaches. I guess Burns just takes forwards only instead of being a Senior Assistant as weell.

Gore was 'definitely going to pay firsts next season at Cats'. 'It was just like getting another late first thrown in'. Mutineer fell for it hook, line and sinker.

Gore was only ever a publicity stun to soften the blow. I remember on FiveAA people running in saying how good Gore was going to be. By the time everyone released he was no good it didn't matter anymore, everyone had moved on.

Reid has got better as he's gone on

The Gibbs howler plus the long term top dollar deals that have hurt us were all done early days

His more recent stuff (eg Rachele, Soligo) is much better. Has created room for us to recruit plus we're retaining our better younger players.

I'm guessing that we're no longer paying mid-rangers the generous dollars we were previously. Understanding the market better.

Reid no doubt he's a few of his own blunders, but i think he gets a lot of blame for Olgivie's & Kelly's mistakes.

Reid came in as list manager at the end of 2014 and was not able to keep a premiership list together to win a premiership. We were slow in recognising the need to rejuvenate the list after the 2018 season, to the point it completely collapsed, giving us our first spoon in 2020. In to our 8th year since we last made finals and we finish 15th. If we can't find someone that lives in Adelaide that can do a better job than Reid has done then what hope is there?
Ya reckon that was more his fault or Pyke and Burton completely derailing the club

Admittedly Reid’s first 3 years where shaky but he’s become a competent list manager , hence a big club is after him

Remember he’s Roo’s captains call and Roo likely acknowledges that he’s a smarter man than Roo

Any time Reid looks good Roo looks good and Roo can feel vindicated now that a big club like collingwood is poaching him

There's no vindication for Roo because even if Reid is a god at what he does, Roo has allowed the rest of the idiots to drag him down.

When does this absolute snore fest end? I expect some late trades today or early tomorrow morning to distract from the Socceroos.
Wednesday next week.

I still maintain that they could condense trade radio down to a 5 minute segment at 5.55pm Friday afternoon before the news and it would cover off on everything.

so gws have put up that so that the negotiation position is just our F2.

GIANTS PUSH FOR TWO PICKS

GREATER Western Sydney has been keen on Adelaide's future second-round pick and selection No.46 in this year's draft in exchange for midfielder James Peatling.

But the Crows are not expected to hand over the selections, with more negotiations likely in coming days.

Adelaide's future second-round pick is set to be the central part of the trade talks between the clubs, with the Giants starting with an eye on the Crows' second remaining pick this season as well (No.46 is Adelaide's next selection after its pick No.4).
