The talk of Carlton trading for pick 3 is annoying as I'm not really on the Draper at Adelaide bandwagon was hoping he'd go to West coast and if he was good we could entice him back.
The "boyhood club" element with Draper would help in the "us v Port" battle to lure him home in future.

But with the character Draper is, he certainly isn't going to be doing a JHF and running after 12 months.

Doesn't need to be in 12 months he can develop for 3 years at another club.

Do people honestly believe that Nicks is gone play Draper in the centre over Crouch Soligo Dawson Laird and Berry? Look what we did to Curtin! It is honestly in Draper's best interest to be developed by a different club and come home when he is a best 22 player for a mountain of cash

this is why lalor and jagga are the better option because they can develop in another position

Still when we boil it all back, we can't miss at 4 if the common belief is that Lalor, Smith, FOS and Draper are consideted the standout top 4. We are guaranteed 1 of them and as long as Smith does not have a strong go home factor, its happy days regardless who we get as long as we don't get cute and take someone leftfield with such a blue chip pick in this draft.

In theory that works.

But there's the chance they don't come back (Pavlich) or they do, and play for the enemy due to other reasons (Lukosious) - What is Sweet gets injured and they need a ruckman and the only player they can get is Draper's brother?

And what if we follow this logic, and then end up with the Victorian JHF who just scuttles his own time here to get back to Vic?

1st pick - Take the best player no matter what. West Coast took Naitanui and Melbourne took Jackson when neither were a need, and both were extremely valuable for their teams. When you have talent, you make room for them.

After that - I'm not opposed to going for need. Maybe do a slight reach for a Ruckman, but otherwise in this draft, best available no matter what.

Also- In regards to Curtin - Position wise, we did what made sense for the team under the circumstances. Injuries affected backline, so we give him go in backline. Gets dropped as he was terrible there. Can't find form in SANFL, moves to midfield, looks good, gets go in midfield. Yes, we handled him TERRIBLY with the subs. But position wise, I feel the decision making was spot on with Curtin.

Twomey did mention today on the Gettable trade desk update that Langford is among those that'd likely be considered

For me, Langford is quite a way behind those four

Yep, lets not get cute and speculate with this pick. Take THE best player left on the board at our pick 4 and the common belief has been those 4 i mentioned.

Look it depends on who you ask re: Langford, some have him at the pointy end

But yeah I'd personally be wanting one of that group of four

Houston camp need to nominate Collingwood as his club of choice and refuse to go to North.

Because that always happens.....

Laird is already not in the centre. I wouldnt even be picking him or Berry unless we have injuries

Dawson
Rankine
Soligo
Peatling
Crouch
-------
Taylor
Dowling
Cheddar
Berry

That should be the mid depth chart going into the season, IMO. Not counting potential part-time mids that are already in the 22 (ANB, Keays). Maybe Berry plays above Cheddar if the latter isn't at all ready

The pedant in me needs to point out that Sid Draper's brother is Arlo who was drafted and later delisted by Collingwood, not Sam

West Coast about to get ****ing rolled in one of the worst trade moves in the history of the competition
