I am glad most of you can identify how much Draper sucks. I would happily see him leave at the end of next season.

You've at least been developing Nick Bryan, who should be ready to go for 2026. We've got nothing underneath if ROB decides to go end of next year.

I think his kicking technique is a lot better, but mostly because he just limits himself to those little stab passes he does.

His kicking is passable at best.

I feel far more comfortable when ROB handballs.

Doubt Bryan makes the grade .....way too soft for a Ruckman, and ESS have been reluctant to play him, preferring old man Goldy ....who was supposed to be the "break glass" ruck

Well he is more of a chance than Strachan & he is Don's 3rd choice.

Clubs were throwing pretty decent contracts at him this year.

I suspect he knows that in 12 months time he'll be number 1.

We got a ruckman who was delisted and was going to play for Norwood, not sure he classifies as a developing ruckman, rather a ruckman for our SANFL team given he seems to be of that quality and is only signed by our SANFL team. Have you seen him play?

Just listing the rucks drafted this year and ignoring the number of young rucks already on lists is only telling half the story. I went through the teams list and the majority already have developing rucks on their lists.

Do you think paying Draper a big contract is a better alternative than having drafted one over recent years who is now ready? Because it looks like that’s the path we are going down.

Just wondering, where was this officially stated? My Norwood work friend read something that he has agreed to play for Norwood and that he's only training with the Crow's??? Is there a link???

Not sure about a link, but Norwood released an end of season report today that said he’s made a commitment to us but training with the Crows, that makes no sense.

Also the same report said there’s been no decision made by Saints on Boyd which I thought there had been.

The same report said Lowe was back at Norwood, I went to the open training tonight and Lowe was there.

There was definite lack of a ruckman at training and you’re right, there is no announcement from the Crows. I will piss myself laughing if the Crows don’t have him, but why would he have signed at one club and train at another?

There's no list spot at the Crows, I expect if they decide to put Strachan on the LTI he'll sign with the Crows and if not he'll go to Norwood. He doesn't want to play for our SANFL team only presumably.

He may not.

But he's one of the top 3 performed rucks of his age, and historically 3 per age are good enough to be 1st rucks (just not before they turn 25).

Would McAndrew just be doing preseason with us to give ROB someone to train with/against?

Norwood know he's getting a good preseason in so are ok with it, plus don't get forced into making him make a choice. McAndrew is using it as a chance to put himself in the shop window for the midseason draft. We get a proper ruck duel at training. Win-win-win

I would say this is 100%. While we have tall players we need to protect them as they are required for other positions. So makes sense to bring in someone.

Also lead the ruck for Essendon in the last 4 games.
Was Draper getting a rest at the end of season or them preparing Bryan?
Draper is a poor ruck statistically with undoubted knob factor who infuriates Dons supporters and
sincerely want our club to take a different direction.
1.5 a year to TDK for 2026 would be my first call.
