So we're limiting ourselves to only what we've managed to do before - the vast majority of which has been a failure?

What about other clubs who have succeeded with Cat B's?

There are a lot of kids from African backgrounds who have focused on soccer but are incredible athletes, or tall kids who have focused on basketball and only played footy in the school yard.

There seems little downside in a tall project taking that last cat b spot that isn't being used otherwise.
Am I wrong but aren't clubs only allowed a maximum of 44 players on the list and cat A and Cat B rookies are included in that number?

Just my opinion but I'd much sooner go with ruck prospects that are actively playing the game at least at junior/school footy programs and in recent times.

It's not just a BF rumour. It was also reported by Callum Twomey on the AFL website.
To be fair on Callum, he wouldn't know the ins and outs of SA media.

He saw reporter affiliated with a news outlet and took it as fact checked.

I'm sure he won't make the same mistake again.

2 of those 44 slots are exclusively reserved for Cat B players.

Think Bicks is right here, we should have had someone younger who actually footballs on the list as a ruck option.

Kinda think it is worthwhile for us to play 2 rucks at SANFL level to get some strength and depth in that position. If we drafted an 18 or 19 year old just play him the last 7-10 mins of the quarters to build him up

Cat B are not counted pretty sure.
this is from the zero hangar website?

Under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed ahead of the 2023 season and running to the 2027 campaign - before Tasmania join the competition - the AFL confirmed a total of 44 players allocated across three categories: Primary list (36-38), Category A Rookie (no more than 6) and Category B Rookie (no more than 2).

Clubs are allowed a maximum of 42 players on their Cat A & Senior lists (could be 38/4, 37/5, or 36/6), plus up to 2 Cat B rookies.

We currently have 42 players on our Senior & Cat A rookie lists, and 1 player (Gallagher) on our Cat B rookie list.

FWIW, I agree with you - the chances of a Cat B rookie working out are exponentially higher if they actually have an Australian Rules background (before going off to play another sport professionally).

No, I base opinions on my own eyes ....plus the Fantasy Community is so much more knowledgeable on players from all Clubs than

Obviously your experience level is quite low on the subject

And BTW ....no-one is choosing Laird this year ...so again the community is ahead of the curve
Mate the only reason people put rucks in their fantasy team is because the competition requires it.

Question for you, what happens when your own eyes differs from the fantasy community or do they always match up?

And amazingly match up with whatever the Crows are doing at the time

You find a more knowledgeable fantasy community that aligns with your views.

Still waiting on his explanation as to how this supremely knowledgeable football community which he moderates, came to bagging Wilkie as a turnover merchant when his disposal efficiency is high 80s, has low clanger count, won their B&F and also previously made AA squad.

Shockingly he’s never come back to explain that.

Wilkie has the 6th best disposal to turnover ratio in the AFL among key defenders. So he rarely turns it over. And even if you included all defenders he still ranks very highly

And to top it all off and this is the very best part of Wilkie, he is a Rostrevor lad. No wonder he footballs well

Tends to go missing rather than admit his bad calls. I'm still waiting for him to come back to me about his Wayne Milera call from about 100 years ago.
