Going off very surface level research

Davidson kicked 26 goals in 17 games as a small forward for Richmond VFL, averaged 14.4 touches

I think this is his draft profile? 25yo

Ellison a former defender that switched forward, kicked 31 goals from 18 games. 192cm, 24yo
Chris Cavanagh and Dan Batten also had us interested this year for the MSD.

Sam Lowson was the player we supposedly had interest in last year, had them mixed up.

Corey Ellison (Williamstown)

A third tall forward, Ellison has kicked 12 goals in eight games for Williamstown this season. His standout display came in round six against Casey, where the 192cm goalkicker finished with 21 disposals, 12 contested possessions, six marks, four majors and 170 SuperCoach points. Carlton has been linked to him, while it is understood Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Brisbane and Adelaide have shown interest.

Cummings is a free agent, and if you sell your future 1st you can't touch your other future picks in the other rounds unless you trade back in a future first from another club

Well the idea is you participate in each round of the draft every two years as a minimum. But my statement was more about never underestimate the AFC to do the stupid thing.

I cant help wonder whether there is a massive trap this year with trading. This draft is pretty decent by all reports but this also comes at the same time as a lot of decent talent are requesting trades.

Honestly, if the Crows simply wanted it they could easily bring in ANB, Luko, Cummins and one of Picket, Oliver and Petty. I dont think it would be hard at all to make all those deals happen. Could even bring in another player which would be huge. But we would take ourselves out of the top end of the draft entirely. Which by all reports has some very good midfield talent which we need.
Well why can't we have both - IF we can get ANB, Luko and Cumming for a F2, our 3rd rounder and make what we could get from a trade of Berry or Keane, it would still leave us with 4 & 27 in this draft.

Im all for having some draft capital in this draft especially 4. Im talking about the lure of Pickett, Oliver, LDU over and above the others which would be a massive carrot that could blind clubs to opt out of the draft. Its a massive trap.

Ldu is next year... We'd have to put a massive contract up for him though

beat me to it. A 3rd rounder might get that done as he can't crack it at GC and put him in and around the goals and he could work out well for what we need to free up Rankine and Rachele further for midfield
A lot of us rated him in his draft year but he was only available to the Suns as part of their AFL priority NT deal which allowed them to have the NT players as "ëxtra" list spots, ridiculous the leg ups they've been given.

No.

The rule about games coached qualifying for F/S rule was removed decades ago. Chad & Kane could have been Crows, if Studley had been retained for one more season, but Campo's kids were never going to be eligible for Adelaide.
was removed around the time of viney wasnt it?

he left here to allow his kid to qualify for melbourne and not us right?

Any truth to the rumour that Smith was told today to expect sanfl in 2025, his role will be to be bit on an on-field coach in the sanfl ?

Makes sense.

When you combine the fact he's past it and not AFL standard, with the fact he hit some clauses (why the **** are they there to begin with) to be re-signed.

We're a club of our word but we're putting the club first.

If Smith wants AFL, maybe go to Melbourne or Richmond where they're in full tank mode and might play him.

What about if we could get Luko, Rosas and ANB for our F1 and a 3rd rounder.

Thinking
F1 > Lukosius
F1 > Lukosius + Rosas?
F1 = Lukosius + Rosas + 3rd round pick?
3rd round pick + our 3rd for ANB or trade with a team needing points for a late 2nd)
