Agree 1 at a time isn’t enough and not at that elite end where you need them
I think Windhager will be a good player …game changing good? No
Magic beans is bringing in Hill Dougal Jones and Hannerbury …skipping out if drafts cause you’re footy department tells the Board “windows open folks”
Utter bullshyte
Those players were brought in because the culture was rooted. Not because they thought the window was open.

The old eye test, there's no reasoning with that kind of way more wankk.

If you are going to look at a players averages then it has to be full games

7 full games this year
Billings
18 disposals
3 tackles
6 marks
6.7 score involvements
291 metres gained

4 goal assists
2 goals 6 behind

Henry 8 games
13 disposals
2.6 tackles
2.6 marks
5.6 score involvements
225 metres gained
5 goal assist
6 goals 7 behind

Henry looks good, hopefully he can build consistency between his best and worst games.

All I am saying is that Billings isn't a spud as implied in here.
I mean yeah I agree, Billings isn't a spud but to be downplaying Henry's performances so far and comparing them to Billings isn't fair. I was hoping last year that Billings would stay and fight for his spot here but since he's gone, we just have to move on. In conclusion, imo, Henry is the better fit for out club and our list demographic than Billings, and to have a late pick over Billings this year to get Cole and Peckett is also useful

NEW DEAL COMING FOR SAINT

ST KILDA is still yet to make list decisions on a handful of veterans at Moorabbin, but the Saints are working on a new contract for Mason Wood.

The 30-year-old has reignited his career at the Saints, playing 61 games across four seasons at the club since being delisted by North Melbourne at the end of 2020.

Wood will secure at least a one-year deal with the wingman’s form and professionalism a chance to land a two-year contract for the first time since he was signed via the pre-season supplemental selection period.

Tim Membrey, Seb Ross, Zak Jones, Jimmy Webster and Tom Campbell are all above the age of 30 and all remain out of contract beyond October.

Membrey is a free agent and is attracting interest from rival clubs looking for a mobile forward target, while Ross is keen to play on but the two-time Trevor Barker Award winner is yet to receive an extension.

Key defender Dougal Howard is in the final year of the five-year deal he signed when he moved from Port Adelaide at the end of 2019 and yet start discussions around another contract.

Brad Crouch hit a trigger early this season to remain at the club in 2025, but has been sidelined for most of the year with a lingering knee issue.

Riley Bonner has played every game for the Saints since being delisted by the Power at the end of last year, but is yet to receive an offer for next season. – Josh Gabelich

I don't think so. More likely that they realised that we'd stuffed up 2 consecutive rebuilds and needed to stay competitive. Lethlean and Gags started trading out players for picks. Only upgrades were a lot harder to get than imagined so they had to go and pay top dollar to get a slight upgrade.

Diabolical drafting under Trout and less so Libba and the rest is history. According to those responsible, landing the two academy kids changed our focus and we started to chase kids at the draft. Otherwise we would have kept going as we were.

There was a really scary path where we gave Gags, Lethers and Rath the keys to the club. Every time I think there are things that Lyon and his crew aren't doing right it's good to rememberer the bullet that we dodged.

Membrey will go somewhere and play some good footy. He's not being utilised under our game plan. I hope he gets a run at a club and plays some finals on the run to retirement. He's been one of the few lights in a terrible era.

He has.

Hope we just get back something useable.

Agreed will always have soft spot for him no matter what.

In his prime he was a really good player, let down by playing in a dysfunctional team.

Doubt he gets us much back after a couple of quiet years but if he gets to be a productive player again it's good for him.

It looks like the draft changes won’t come in this year. According to Ralph’s article the other day.

So even a third rounder could help with improving our draft hand.

Webster crouch wood Butler all signing again.
Bonner will eventually.

The rest are garbage.

Battle 50/50

Marshall - apparently the club is Geelong. But that’s a rumour not a fact.
Tommy Campbell is still a good player. Pretty handy backup especially if Marshall walks out.

If Marshall walks out. I’d like us just to focus on people who will be there when we are playing finals

You can't just bring in a kid for depth and he doesn't take a trade to get him. He holds that VFL incubator together too. He's a leader.

In recent years we tried to get Xerri and Draper.
Can't say we didn't try. In hindsight a future 2nd for Xerri was a pretty good deal.
