I remember Joyce’s match against Geelong at KP, he was playing fullback that day. He picked up 6 goal assists…..except the goals were for the Cats. It was turnover central.
Well, I don't doubt it, but back then, if Hawkins, Cameron and even Rohan was having an 'on' day, getting a bag kicked on you was probably not beyond the realms of possibility. And those first two are crafty ol' buggers too - they'll make a mess of an amateur.

But just for the sake of mentioning it, i reckon he'd do a far better job circa '24/'25 than just a few years back.

This article had some good info in it

It does have good info, we could have 10 new players by round 1.

But more likely less

My prediction.
Membrey @ Collingwood

Hayes resigned in a 1 year deal. ( Pending players available at the draft)

Paton Delisted, and rookie listed to gws.

Hotton delisted

Crouch retired in march to see if he can get his body right. Retirement in march will allow the signing of a train on player before round 1.

Leaving 8 to 9 new players.

Just realised i've had this bloke in my fantasy team like 8 times out of the last 10 years and i've never heard him speak before
lol said the exact same thing to my Bulldogs mate.
That it was the first time I’ve ever heard him speak.
Gun player, that’s doesn’t need the media limelight.
Thought his voice would be deeper.

Actually really like this. We will be offering LDU 1.6 next year and if north try and match it we won’t have a first rounder to give them.

I approve, don't care if it's considered an overpay. When we win the flag next year and North win the spoon it's only a one spot pick slide anyway. Although I can almost guarantee North starts rumours like this to get leverage on Richmond because they want an offer 6 & 10

If that happens.

Blow any draft order up.

FOS Lalor Jagga Smillie Draper Langford (not in order)

Pick 7 then becomes tradable. Because the clubs are all taking mids if North slides out of that top 7 into 8.

Actually, while I like it, it does mean that the first 6 are more likely to be mids, meaning 7 misses the other top mids. If someone still takes a tall, then a FOS / Lalor into Smilie / Langford would be delicious.

MacCrae
Heard Sam Edmonds and I Cornes on Breakfast SEN both without any hint of venom or agenda, saying MacCrae is probably, 1)not suited to the way footy is played these days and 2) not really what the doctor ordered in St Kilda’s case. (But good luck to him etc etc)
Crouch
Remember people saying Crouch was not fit Round One, but played? And then late season, it is revealed that he needed one game to ‘trigger a clause’ ..

In the case of MacCrae I am just grateful we have him and I can’t wait for him to stick it to all the doubters

In the case of Crouch, I am perplexed. Do clubs and player’s managers sit down and agree to circumnavigate the very rules they (apparently) put in place??

You would have to consider 7 being traded down.

Only club that has picks that kinda appeal are the giants. But when you work out what you hope the draft order looks like.

Do you miss too much talent you like?

Target the Tigers 10 and 11.

7 and Nths F2 -> 10 and 11? (with later swaps)

After taking mids with 1 and 6, Tigers grab Tauro/Armstrong before Nth at 8..would be delicious

I doubt they are trading both for a 3 pick upgrade and all the prime mids off the board.

I'm keen to hear from someone about the reasoning for keeping Jones but getting rid of Membrey?

I get that we want to give opportunity to Hammer, Sharman etc but can't you say the same of our young mids?

If we get injuries or form issues with out forwards we look very thin there. Membrey was quite clearly a best 22 player.

Could it be that Jones has a higher ceiling than Membrey?

I'm definitely in the keep Membrey camp, but the only thing I can think of is that he isn't what the coaches want structurally. He's a bit slow to move the ball on when we're higher up the ground which can slow down a transition, but that's me nitpicking.

I think there comes a point in time where you have to give the kids the limelight to see whether they'll sink or swim, so I can understand if the club has told him he's not best 22 as they want to see how the other key forwards will do.

King could be anything, but he can't stay on the park. Owens and Sharman seem to have been okay injury wise and hopefully Caminiti comes back from his shoulder injury alright. It does leave us very light on up forward unless we pluck a decent kid out of the draft or someone from the state leagues who can fill a hole.

I think our opinion of Tim and his benefit to the side might differ from the clubs. Something went on last year when there were late rumours of he being up for trade and then having the psych issues and pulling out of the final game. Im sorry to see him leave and I think next year the team will miss him, but hope he does well at the Pies and can extend his career for as long as he can.

Tim did well to fight off the black dog and get himself up and firing again throughout the year. He showed glimpses of his old self but perhaps the club think he is about to fall off the cliff. Jones is a quick midfielder who had a good back end to the season - if fit he is definitely worth keeping.

Collingwood and Geelong are showing the way with managing and playing older star players to get every possible game out them.

Our issue is a distinct lack of depth if we have injuries to key position players, its scary when you look at how unbalanced our list is.

If this is likely - you think this pick swap would happen before draft night ?
There is no reason for North to see who is taken at pick 1 before trading?
