Why do people think he will be a good forward? He took one ok lead up mark? The game where he was named forward he looked lost and performed like shite.

People will say Naughton was recruited as a back and is playing forward, but let me ask you this; Name 1 other kid drafted as a back who had a successful career as a forward.

I can tell you this, I would prefer a star intercepting back over a better than average forward.

Adam Hunter could play forward and play it well to.

Any disphit with a bit of height and two hands can run around the backline marking oppo hack kicks. How many genuinely good tall forwards are there? How many are under 30? We'd be mad to not try and breed our own Lunch. Absolute unicorns.

It's speculative/predictive, like all positional changes. He looks like he has the attributes, good mark, good kick, good athleticism, composed with ball in hand.

He might not be a star forward, but given how short we are of options there, wouldn't be the worst idea over a preseason and preseason games to trial, or for a quarter/half in the VFL every now and then.

Wed pick up fairly quickly if it was worth persisting with or a waste of time.

Cos he's a good mark, a good kick, has a great tank, athletic and reads the play well?

Think he has looked decent whenever he was thrown forward last year as well late in games

Plucked a few nice grabs and was a good set shot, if that’s his baseline without actually spending significant time training forward it’s definitely not silly to assume that it could be a role for him in the future

Played a lot of forward as a JR as well only actually started playing in the backline during the nab cup

Played forward most of his junior career, also u17 TAC and was very good. Only played CHB in u18 TAC.

Easiest come back to that is that the Rebals found that he was better in the backline than the undrafted tall forward. If Gibcus was a good forward, why wouldn't the Rebals used him there over some other guy that didn't get drafted?

Could be any number of reasons
Maybe just as simple as the guy who played forward couldn’t play back and they needed a kpd in the side and Gibcus had the attributes to play at both ends

Most analysis pre draft pointed out to the fact that he could easily play at both ends of the ground

TAC is a platform for viewing a players all round talents. Lots of KP players spend a Season forward and back. Van Rooyen in the WA state u18s was a centre half back. Gibcus was not a CHB because he couldn’t play forward.

it would be nice if he could get on the park.
what's this hammy cost him now
10 weeks and rising.
Maybe he needs a trip to Germany for some calf's blood.
It was a hammy off the bone. Calf blood treatment is for repetitive hammy tears.

Well your comeback is ****ing rubbish as the player the Rebels used up forward that year won the Morrish Medal.

I am sure that medal looks great in the dudes bedroom but do you know what he is missing? An AFL contract. Must of been a medal given out to real battlers because the the bloke he shared it with also went undrafted.
