Konstas can have a crack and see if he can go any better, it is okay to fail and get dropped. I don't think Sydney has shown he is ready to produce what we need in this series.

We need to build/blood for the future...Ashes next summer. Lyon is not in the form he was a few years back.

You have to give it to Marsh. He now averages (almost) above 40 and below 30. Just a shame it isn't in the order you would hope

This is the biggest series we currently can play, bigger than the Ashes. Lets not blood players for the sake of it now. Murphy will probably get to play in Sri Lanka anyway. Lyon is still the best spinner in Australia

Lyon is so far a liability in this series....also used to be able to bat and field...not any more.

The pitches have been not friendly to spin, i think he has performed okay not good. We will eventually find ourselves needing a spinner in this series and when we do we need him ready.
The answer is not dropping Lyon it is just picking Webster who can actually contribute will the ball if needed so we still have 4 seamers and a spinner.

Sure but you think Marsh and Head get moved up without us playing for a declaration? Marnus, Sydney both played at balls they would typically leave. Head wildly thrashed at one (even by his standards), Cummins swinging for the fences, Smith strangled down the leg side.That's what forums are for, we are not going to agree on everything
India bowled pretty well but that does not happen if it was day 3.

I think Murphy is the best prospect but Lyon is still the best right now.
Kuhnemann should be right in the frame to partner Lyon as a horses for courses / match-up selection.

"Chucker" is one of the worst labels anyone can inflict on a young cricketer. I know, as it happened to me when I was a kid and it hurt deeply.

Khawaja, Lab and Marsh surviving but McSweeney getting dropped would be very concerning for the future of this team.
