You aim to win every game you play. The point made was that they are going OTT. Nothing nationalistic about it. A series win would be nice but in an era of home dominance around the globe, merely preventing your opponent from winning doesn't mean that much. England have gone 20 years with no wins in the Caribbean and just one in 56 years. West Indies haven't won in England for 35 years. It's really not the feat you make it out to be.

So Australia wouldn’t have given a shit when they went to Sydney 5 years ago knowing they couldn’t win the BG Trophy but that they could avoid being the first Australian team to lose to India at home. Gotcha

Again, why should this impact on England trying to win and wanting to?

Of course Australia have had the better of their contests hence they have the trophy.

I don’t have a problem at all with England trying to win every test. I’d just be embarrassed if my team took pride in drawing a home series and were continually thumped away.

Took Warner two innings spaced over 5 test matches to realise his inner potential.
Honestly should give players license to at least push 4 runs an over.
Marnus with 9 from 82 this match. Nah mate that’s 100% playing into their hands
Yep
The lack of intent hurt us.

The bats apart from MM and Ussie have been poor.
And MM only played due to injury.

i do believe the lords test also rattled the entire side, not just carey. dont think anyone could've been prepared for the nonsense that went on with the stumping.

Pissweak lack of leadership from Cricket Australia to not front up, blow up, and tell them to shove it up their arses.

Here you go again. It's not about not giving a shit. It's about varying degrees of success. A drawn home series and not retaining the BG is a failure. But it is better than losing. Like losing 1-2 is better than losing 1-3.
