Even if Root didnt see him drop it (he was the one begging for the review) Stokes himself knew he dropped it. You can see it on the replay that he knew straight away.

Unless he was reviewing for an LBW, it was just a baffling decision to review.
he forgot there were cameras to show him trying to cheat

You tell by his reaction when the ball came out as he split second went to try and reclaim it

All those laughing at the Poms aren’t realising the irony in their own double standards as well.

A lot wouldn't have known the rule at that moment Starcs was overturned!

The catch was originally given out and It was over turned by the 3rd umpire!

The actual shock of the call and a misunderstanding of the rule is responsible for 99.9% of those comments. Nothing like this!

😂😂😂😂

This is funny, Australia lose a couple of wickets and despite still being on top, you all lose your minds.

I was answering your question , the ball was changed after it hit Khawaja in the head and knocked it out of shape.
Bullshit.
Your disingenuousness (fake innocence) is as nauseating as the Pommie hubris, whining and hypocrisy that's been on show all series.
Face it --- your mob thought that regaining the Ashes was a fait accompli, before the event, yet regardless of the result of the current Test, THE ASHES are coming home.

Suffer, baby.

Well there's a surprise, you were making it all up and have absolutely nothing to show me for being hypocritical.

Why would I want you to delete your post? It's just further proof of you making stuff up.
Fair enough, got carried away with the emotion and lumped you in with a large section of England supporters.

What’s your answer to my question though?

Labuschagne finished for the campaign.

22 Tests in Australia, average of 70. 70!
21 Tests overseas, average of 38.

38 is obviously not terrible, all bar the very best International batsmen struggle to assert themselves on foreign pitches - but that is a big discrepancy.

Labuschagne's tour of England in 2023 was pretty similar to his tour of India in 2023; a little underwhelming, but no disaster. He never tonned up in India but he was reasonably consistent in his application on ridiculously difficult pitches.

His just-completed Ashes campaign yielded the one match-saving century, but overall I didn't think he asserted himself in England much more than he did in India really. I've been surprised by his passivity at the crease, he often seems too focused on simple survival without much of a plan to score when the bowling has been tight/hostile.

Marnus still has enough time to narrow the gap between his Australian-pitches dominance and his so-so overseas record.

Not sure BLU hopefully some campaigner might have the decency to reply.

agreed.
Personally - and this is just me speaking personally, BLUE - I don't think we've EVER disagreed, BLUE. 🥳

Wonder if they’ll take the new ball or just request a replacement from the mystery box

They've been continually trying to get the balls replaced every few overs or so. It's been a tactic from them the whole series.

To be fair to the Poms, they didnt ask this time, the Umpires themselves look to have made the call after it cannoned into Uzzies helmet, but I reckon the English know something more about the 'old' balls in the box than we do.

I didn't like the Carey stumping (but recognise it was legal). Other people holding different views on that in other incidents doesn't make me a hypocrite.
