Kohli is cooked. His eye, his timing, he's temperament (always questionable). He got lucky today and then he just scratched around for a bit. That century in Perth saved him, but then again would they ever drop him ? Well, the captain copped it.
He's done.

I guess we'll have to see what conditions are like tomorrow, but if they are similar to today a ball will come down with your name on it eventually. May as well see if you can have twenty, thirty or more runs to your name when it does by playing aggressively.
I think the 1st hour will be tricky, as it should and after that it will be a very good batting deck first a few days .

Another quality A grade post.

You really know your cricket.

Our ball tampering incident is clearly worse than biting the ball, scuffing it with your pants zipper or rubbing it with mints to alter it's performance.

It was the correct decision to punish the Australian cheats harsher than the cheats from other countries doing the exact same thing.

It was correct, as I said they ruined Australia's sporting reputation. And the funny thing is they didn’t hide the cheating very well. Smiths crocodile tears after the incident was laughable.

They didn't have to nor should they have resorted to cheating. It's a dog act and Australia should be above it.

Regardless of whether an Indian captain should do that or not (maybe focus his energy on his failed batsmen that keep making him carry the team). The reality is it's obvious konstas has way more arrogance than he should have at this stage of his career so anything that helps him think about making an attitude adjustment isn't a bad thing long term. He needs to learn to focus on his craft and not crowds and banter and antics and sideshow stuff.

What about it?

Put your money where your mouth is, AP: when was the last time you actually walked out on to a park in whites and played the game to pontificate so highly on what is and is not appropriate behaviour on a cricket pitch?
I played for 8 years. I was a big talker but there was always an element of comedy. He has arrived fresh on the scene as a sniping smart ass.
Great potential though. This is one of the first times I agree with the phrase 'don't get ahead of yourself' for a player.
An AFL equivalant would be Ginniven.

The Poms targeted him just as Konstas is doing Bumrah. Letting bowlers like Boland and Bumrah sit on their length letting the ball jag is a death sentence.

What’s disappointed me the most is it’s taken a young rookie to do it from our side. None of our mature players were prepared to risk their wicket at all to put Bumrah off. Cricket is insanely selfish sometimes.

Head has dispatched him a few times but normally comes in after Bumrah has embarrassed the others. I definitely get your point though. I just wish we still had Pucovski, he'd be a fantastic opening partner for Konstas. Was a noodler who defended as solid as a rock but still scored at a good rate.

Not how long. When.

There's also levels of experience. Were most of those years jnr cricket? How much of that was G grade park cricket?

There's nothing wrong with being a smartarse if you can back it up. To this point, he's absolutely been able to back it up. There's no level you have to be at before you can talk; he's the fourth youngest debutant to play for Australia in history. He's plenty good enough to be at this level. He scored a 60 at around a run a ball against this attack.

We'll see how he goes tomorrow, but you rather need to pull your head in. Every time you open your mouth - metaphorically speaking - you provide yet another example that you do not know what you are talking about.

"I don't like how he goes about it" is about the most anemic criticism one can make.

I think there’s a pretty big difference in how Konstas was acting in comparison to the aggressive beeline from Virat.
I felt pretty uncomfortable watching, as I would be if Smith did the same thing to Jaiswal.
Players have been lippy in the field for god knows how long, an aggressive bee line from second slip is a different kettle of fish.

Kohli is a narcissist who cannot accept he’s ageing poorly and can no longer walk the talk…he needs to project his internal anguish on to someone else in order to maintain his perfect self-image
Perhaps he's struggling with the fact that, after having a God complex for so long, he's realising he's not actually God.

Konstas needs to show more respect. He's been there for 5 minutes and he's behaving like David Warner.
i still haven't made my mind up on this. One thing i will say, i dont reckon he's earned his place quite yet to be orchestrating the Merv Hughes crowd moves. But as i said before he's the Jack Ginnivan of cricket – he just doesn't give a shit.

I played senior cricket for years umpired as well ,so I'm not sure where you're going with this.
He wouldn't last long in grade cricket with his attitude.

When he was at silly mid on he was just nasty. There is an art to it but he just tries to provoke.
Hopefully Cummo will tell him to pull hus head in.
The way Konstas has bullied and bossed around the poor senior Indian cricketers has added another dark chapter in Australian cricket history.

When he said "he's not ready" I thought he was going to go full Noah Balta and knock Bumrah's block off.

Ginniven is actually a premiership player so probably not the best example

Because you're incredibly reluctant to tell me the last time it happened; this indicates to me that it's entirely too long ago.

And I'd be reluctant to ever have you as an umpire in a game I played in. You've tunnel vision to a fault.

He'd probably score about 400 in 50 overs in grade cricket... So no, he likely wouldn't last long before the league stepped in and banned him from playing.
